Instant Messengers

I can't remember if I posted this already or not, but there is a place in the User CP in which you can add your instant messenger contacts if you like. I rarely have mine on but decided to touch base with some old friends today and it reminded me to make sure friends know where I am when I'm there. Don't laugh at the Yahoo Minxy_Melody handle - its tough to find a handle that isn't taken and an old friend labelled me 'Minxy' eons ago. Something about being devilish... can you imagine? Me?

I used to have them on all the time, but since I work online as well as play, I found it to be distracting and gradually got out of it. I still like to check in occasionally though. Its nice to find friends from other forums or business contacts that I met along the way in a decade+ of surfing.

My computer doesn't like the latest MSN version - locks it up everytime. Anyone else have prob's with it? I gave up, so I only log into ICQ & Yahoo occasionally these days. There's also several programs that allow you to log into more than one messenger through it, IMVite being one of them.

I gave up on MSN as well...Thanks for the reminder I didn't fill any of that out when I joined origionally, no idea why.

:bump-5: I thought I'd call attention to the thread for new members.

I have resolved my issues with MSN since my initial post, but I still rarely have the messengers on. If you don't hear from me when you add me, try try again as I'll get the request eventually.

Does anyone use ICQ anymore? I haven't logged in for even longer than the rest. It was the most popular when I first came online, but I don't hear about it as much these days so I was curious.
