OK. Let's have some fun around here (and really date ourselves). What is the first song you recall hearing on the radio as a child?

For me it's: The Green Door by Jim Lowe, in 1956.

(OK, OK... some of us dinosaurs were alive and kicking in 1956... and yes, radio stations did exist!

Billy Don't Be a Hero,(1974) anti-war pop song by Paper Lace just popped into my head.

Off topic for a nano: At the moment I do have Cecila by Simon and Garfunkel stuck in my head, the song has been permanantly stuck in my head for about 6 months now on and off....And its doing more then breaking my heart, its driving me nuts![/offtopic]

What I want to know is how a young'un like you has a Simon and Garfunkel song stuck in her head? Simon and Garfunkel are 'my generation'.:twitcy: (Sorry, I don't know a cure... how about trading it in for 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters'?

What? You didn't know my sole purpose here was to torment you? :;): It's ok, maybe by morning someone will mention another song which will replace the endless recording in your brain with yet another.

I can't remember a specific song. I am thinking it could have been something David Cassidy sang on the Partridge Family.

Like Pam, I can't remember one song in particular.. but it's probably something along the lines of Supertramp (Dreamer)/Pink Floyd(Money)/Led Zeppelin(Stairway to Heaven)

I've always listened to what my dad was listening to when I was young!

You can't fire a volunteer... its an oxymoron or moronic or something like that.

Hank Snow - I was probably around 7 - 1975. My Father had his albums. Stompin' Tom was in there too, Johnny Cash, etc.

I remember an old daily program on the radio, on for several hours every morning, hosted by a gentleman who always ended the show with "Good morning ladies". Most of the people listening that time of day were the women, at home with the kids, the way it used to be.

I remember this song, played on an eight track player whenever we went on our 8 hour trips to visit relatives as kids in the summer....

"RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on"

Anyone remember this song? LOL !! The eight track had a mix of old songs on it, and I enjoyed every one ! :) Just wish I could remember what they were...LOL!

Let calculate how much this is gonna cost me:Worried::
50% x $0.00 = $0.00
