My firefish has been picked on by my clowns..... grrrrr !!

They get irritated with him, and the large female clown will come out and nip at him. He does not seem bothered by this, and just dodges them and keeps on swimming in his spot in the front and center of the tank.... he is always waiting for food! LOL!

Anywho... since he does not run, the clown has managed to take a few chunks out of his tail, and he now has two good sized bites, and this has resulted in almost the whole middle section of his tail being gone !

Is there anything I should do to prevent infection, as I would hate to see something happen to him !

I do hope the clowns will stop this.... maybe another fish, like a chromis would help redirect their attitudes... as the firefish is the only new fish in the tank that they see swimming, and they dont like that !

aww thats too bad they are picking on the lil guy. From experiance( if you have lots of live rock) I can tell ya you will never catch the firefish to treat it, unless you tear your tank apart, and that just stresses everyone!
Keep your water clean and make sure hes eating well. And I think adding a few chromis will help keep the clowns busy. Cheers

Glad to hear it. Are they leaving him alone now?

Well, they just seem to chase him now and then when they get bored... it is weird. No more tail pieces missing though... yet !

Wow, this is like CAC history or something, the first ever post in the saltwater ER.

Glad to hear he is doing ok.

That's because we have such exceptional marine hobbyists that they never have a problem.

OK, so that's BS, but it sounded good, yes?

Hope it all goes well Mindy!
