So I just moved all of my goldies together and so far The Beast/Queen is behaving herself. Would a 90 be too big for cories? I'm going to stick them in there to at least keep it cycled, its covered in algea so at least my pleco's will be happy.
OMG I have an empty 90 gallon!
Feels dizzy with euphoria.
No new house=new fish right?

You WILL kick yourself if you set up another tank and you are moving soon...
Last time I moved I drove a full 42g 500km in the back of my car. I strapped a lid on, but if I had to stop quickly, the water squirted out from underneath, down my back and all over the car :) In the end it worked out okay, but I made a solemn promise to myself not to do it again. I also had to adjust my stand with a reciprocating saw, and it's still not back to it's former self...

I don't think we're going to be moving. The sad thing is I more then love this house, once my work visa goes through, once I'm teaching we'll have absolutely no problem swinging a mortgage. At the moment if we got the house after all the bills we'd have maybe 100 bucks a month if that. We wouldn't be able to do much else and things are stressful enough since I'm not working, looks like I'll be here another year. :(

Well then, you could fit in a pretty big swarm of cories!

I put the cories in the 90 and they are schoaling!!! All of them together! Its the coolest thing eva! Even the shrimp look happy...After 15 maddening minutes I also figured out the trick of netting shrimp in one foul swoop. Mine love to hover on a sponge filter so I picked the sponge filter up leaving it in the water put my net around the base and sat the sponge filter in it and then SLOWLY brought it to the surface, shrimp all jump into the net as it is still in water and the sponge is partially out.
Now to figure out what is compatible with cories...Hmmm

I can't find anymore cories around here other then what I have. I'm dying to get my hands on C83, Burgessi II, Duplicaerus and some Super Swartzi (the name reminds me of Jimmy Super Fly Snooka) There's gotta be a livebearer I can stick with em? Isn't there?
I have 2 empty 48's in the basement as well as an empty 30, two 10's and a 15 gallon so I'd have the room for fry. For about 5 minutes anyways. I've been saving all of my tanks for something...Now I know what...LIVEBEARERS!
Gah! What have you guys done to me???? :wideeyed:

Didn't you know, it's contagious!! Once you see a livebearer, you fall in love with it (actually, all of them)!!

Well, Kat, I've got swordtails, guppies, platies, plecos, angels, rummynose tetras and discus with all kinds of different cories. The only problem I had was my albino cories didn't spawn until I moved the discus out of that tank and lowered the temps.

Dooh, yep, and mollies too! So as you can see, you have a great selection to choose from for your tank. Plus a wide selection of livebearer breeders here to pick some nice new fish for your tank.

I had bad luck putting cories with livebearers (swordtails and platys). They are too aggressive at feeding time and the cories would get chased away from their algae wafers. This happened even if I fed the cories in the dark!

As sad as that makes you feel right now, I can't help but admire you for thinking it through. You're newly wed, and even when its right, the first year of marriage is reputed to be the toughest - financial worries on top of that could ruin everything. You have all the time in the world and the important thing is that you have each other 24/7 now, something you would have killed for a year ago. :hugs:
Besides, we all need something to dream about - what fun is it to get everything you want right now? ::D:

You just reminded me of how much I overfeed...lol...by the time it hits the bottom, the Livebearers are stuffed - there's always leftovers for the bottom feeders but it does mean a killer maintenance schedule. Good point!
