Just great!! If the heat wave we are having here was not enough, we now have to boil the friggin' water for at least a minute!!

Heat wave has been on for about 4 days, with 27-30°C temperature. Smack on the humidity factor, and we are talking 34-40°C! No end in sight to this heat wave just now! Imagine, with the wind chill in winter and the humidity in summer, we can easily see an 80°C swing within 6 months!!

And I just learned that the city water around here has some issues, so we have toi boil the darn thing for at least a minute.

Man I hate summers around here! I do prefer winter anytime!!

Sorry, had to vent!

You know I so prefer winter as well ! I rather be cold ad put some extra cloths on, than too hot with no way to cool down... grrrr...

Gotta go freeze some pop bottles for my fish tanks now !

And I am sweaty already ! No matter how many showers one takes, your sweaty again 2 seconds later !

Exactly!!
One can only take off so much clothes in public!
Once you're down to the minimum, you can't take off anymore!

In winter, you can add on as much as you like!
In my case, this comes down to jeans, a t-shirt and a windbreaker in winter!
Only in the coldest of days do I put on some gloves and a real winter jacket!

I can't take the temperature extremes either. Hence, one of the reasons I moved from Montreal to the Vancouver area 36 years ago. I have not forgotten how incredibly hot and humid the summers are and the bitter cold the winters are (accompanied by tons of snow:eek: ).

Mind you this year here on the south coast has has extremes... a couple of weeks ago we were breaking all time heat records in the lower mainland... temps in the high 30's. It reminded me why I left Montreal. So you have my sympathies.

I don't like the cold either, though... no thanks... if it dips below the freezing point, that's waaaaay too cold for me.

Meh, the cold dont bother me, I like it ! ALways wanted to move to Alaska or some other cold place.... and travel with sled dogs ! LOL! But then it would be harder having all my tanks and keeping them warm ! LOL!

If it would just stay fall like all year long, I would be in heaven !!

Seriously, the air conditioner cost me money that I don't really have to blow, having only been at the new job for a couple of months, but it has been the best investment ever! I come home to a comfortable temp so my energy isn't zapped, my feet don't swell like they usually do, everyone is in a better mood... its priceless. If you can't get one now, wait until Fall when they're on sale and be ready for next year.

As for boiling water, its usually still ok for tanks - test it on a tank and go from there. We had an advisory here and although it looked bad, a few extra filter changes with carbon looked after that and the fish were fine. In the wild they have muddy water times when it rains & such, and bacteria that bothers us doesn't necessarily bother them - no big.
