Hope to see you around!

:Welcome: jon604

Not sure about the Taiwan blues, but I think you'll find that Cherry shrimp will adapt to most water conditions. They seem to be a very adaptable little shrimp.

I've read that the Crystal reds prefer slightly cooler than tropical temps, about 74 - 75f, and slightly hard/alkaline water. I've had some difficulty with my Crystal reds, I think it's partly due to the hardness of my water. Calgary city water is extremely hard, lots of carbonate hardness.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi!

I've moved your thread here to Inverts and Crustaceans to ensure other shrimp keepers spot it. I personally only have Cherry Red Shrimp ( and am fairly new to those) so can't offer much advice but I'm sure there are other members here who can.

I keep my Cherries at room temps, in a small tank which they share with some Red Ramshorn snails. It has a gravel substrate and some java moss (for them to cling to). I keep the water fairly hard (for my snails... not sure if this is what is best for the shrimp). As for food, they get shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and softened (slightly cooked) veggies. Just in the past couple of days, I have tried some sinking food tablets but I'm not sure if it's the shrimp or the snails that eat them... I will observe and let you know.

Word of caution, they are tiny creatures, so don't overfeed... uneaten food will quickly foul the tank.

Best of luck with your shrimp. If you can, post some pictures... we'd love to see them!

well
i hope you dont have all these shrimp in the same tank
first because if i remember well taiwan blue and cherry hybridize
adn second thos shrimp dont need the same water.

ok here some answer to your question :

- Bee and CRS need acid and soft water (blainep probably why you have prob with your CRS)(of course the will support hard/alkalin water exceptionnally , but not on the long run)
- Bee and CRS cool water , 25deg celcius max (of course the will support higher exceptionnally , but not on the long run)
- cherry will adapt to about anaything between 6.5 to 8 and 20 to 30deg
- taiwan blue are hard wtaer also ( are you sure you have this shrimp)
- Bee and CRS coming from the same complex and CRS is a selective breed of Bee (are you sure you have Bee)

if you have any question dont hesitate.
