A couple of members have indicated that their mailboxes fill up rather quickly and inquired as to whether or not the size of the mailboxes can be increased. I will consider doing so. :GEEK: However, to do so requires more storage space. So firstly, I would like to know what you think about the size of your mailbox? Do you feel you need to have more space for your PMs? Let's hear your comments. Cast your vote now.

i have found that my mail box fills up quickly and some pm's i just don't want to delete, so a bigger mailbox would be good. But if it's a hassle or expensive etc. what we have is doable.

I don't use it so far so its ok for me. You can copy and paste stuff you want to save. I think this is the best canadian forum I have found and I don't want it to go away because it is expensive. I would be happy even if I couldn't use the forum mail at all.

Had to make a backup of all my messages twice already!

I find my mailbox is enough for me, I can see how it would/could be to small for a sponsor who is using it for business purposes.

Is is it possible to give those who are supporting the forum financially a larger mail storage area ?

If so, I think it would be a good idea.

That's a great idea! The only prob would be if they stop sponsoring and have a full inbox, so I guess they just can't stop sponsoring  .

This site is a baby yet. Eventually the posts are going to take a lot of space and I don't want the history deleted. If we up the space, I wouldn't do it by too much. We have to have priorities and the site is already costing a bundle. PM's are meant to be a way to communicate, not to store information.

Ah, see, I use my PM to store info. I should get in the habit of printing the ones I want to keep. That way, keeps the mailbox down and I've got a paper copy.

Yup, look at what happened to BCA when they lost the old forum archive. There was a lot of useful info there that people wanted to keep as a reference and then one day it went bye bye. It's never a bad idea to back up the things you want to keep.

I was one of the ones who lost info over there. Good point!! Well, off to print my PMs and tidy up.

I am still awaiting more feedback before making a decision but you have the option of downloading a text file of all or selected messages which are in your mailbox.

The files will be saved to any location you choose on your hard drive as: privatemessages-yourusername-date.txt.

This file can be opened in any word processor.

To download all: Click the Download all Private Messages as Text link (Bottom right hand corner of your screen.)

If you just want to download one or just a few files. Check them off first then select the option next to Selected Messages: Download as TEXT next to the GO button and click GO.

Well I am new here and so far the size has been fine. That being said if I get to the point of selling anything that I have raised (see MTS thread... lol) I have the website that I would be using for email contacting and the like www.canadianaquaria.ca
