Sorry to get serious here for a sec. Last night (4:30 am) we woke up to one of my neighbors houses being on fire (two houses over). The fire trucks were arriving as we were waking up so it was too late to help. I was told today that two of the young women who lived there passed away in the blaze. I'm afraid I never got the chance to know them other than at halloween and in passing. If anyone here knew them or were related to them, i'd like to offer my sincerest condolances and know that our family's prayers are with your families. Rest in peace ladies.

That's very sad news. It also must have been awful for you to watch knowing there was nothing you could do. My condolences to the family and friends of these ladies.

We didn't realize everyone didn't make it out. I'm stunned. We just saw the trucks showing up and figured everything was under control. (The worst part.... I spent 3.5 yrs in the fire service before moving to BC.... I'm feeling a little ill)

Sent you a PM at the other forum. So sorry to hear that there were deaths and I'm sure they did the best they could with the victims. You are too hard on yourself, missy (but that makes me your friend ~ to keep you from being so hard on yourself).
I hope they fell asleep and just never woke up. Does that even make any sense?:(

My tenant and I just walked over and laid some flowers on the lawn. A few of the people who live in the house but were away at the time pulled up as we laid the flowers. They told us that the two guys that made attempts to save the girls are in hospital, one in intensive care. So along with my condolances to the families I would like to add a HUGE HUG to those guys to risked their lives. You are amazing. Our prayers are with you and your family...

I read about that in the paper, such a shame. I always read the names and hope its not one of our friends here when I hear of accidents and the like, but they're someone's friends. Such bright young ladies too.
