View Full Version : Where's my marker?
Melody

Anyone know where my permanent marker is? I have addressing to do and I can't find it anywhere.
This happens to me far more than I care to admit, and more now that I've started working outside the home.
Ever have to organize and entire house so it works more efficiently? What did you do? Any tips from those super-organized people out there?
Back to looking under things and cursing...

Usually I end destroying the whole house trying to figure out where its gone to and then end up going to the dollar store and getting another one. Annoying and it wrecks my house.
Its the very reason the box recieved from me had your address printed out from the computer.
Can't help you on organizing the house...
My classroom, always organized to a tee, my house not so much.

Well, I lost my Visa, looked all around the house, vehicles, tried backtracking to when it was last used. Finally gave up and phoned and got it frozen. Was sent out a new one in the mail. Lo and behold, I found it underneath a pile of papers!
Joked and told hubby it was a good thing. I didn't use my card for 2 weeks, look at the money I saved! Then I promptly ordered some food from Uncle Rick with my new card. How bad am I?!!

Its one of my top pet peeves actually. PO's me in record time, not being able to find something, especially if I happen to be in a hurry on top of it. But I do the same things over and over. Leave my watch in a different place everyday, etc. I drive myself insane, which I'm pretty sure is a man's job.

I'm betting your marker is with my watch which I haven't seen since oh I dunno June! And my house is actually clean so where it is only God knows.

I frequently misplace my watch, my keys, my wallet, etc. (and most often when I am rushing to get out of the door. However, the worst of all is when I misplace my glasses. You have to understand something, I need my glasses to find my glasses.
UC, I often don't wear my glasses around the apartment as I function in this familiar place quite well but heading outside these 4 walls without them would be terrifying and attempting to cross a road would most likely result in death (or major injury at the very least). I do have a second pair but I have to remember where they are so I can put them on to find the first pair... get the picture. It should be a simple matter as there are only so many surfaces in this apartment but nope... it can take me forever.
Now, Melody, as for your market, let me first find my glasses and I'll be right over to help you find it.:;):

Your glasses reminded me of last week, I walked around the house for a good 10 minutes looking for my sunglasses completely harried. My husband was laughing the entire time, why you ask? Because they were on my head the entire time I was looking for them and he wondered how long it would take me to figure it out. :realmad:

I have done that one and one better... wandered around the ex's place for a while looking for them. We were going out somewhere. Anyway ex comes upstairs and asks what I am doing. I say looking for my glasses. He starts laughing. I ask what is so funny. He says... nothing and tries to stop laughing. I keep looking everyso often glaring at him from across the room. Finally I look at him and tell him to stop laughing and help me find my glasses. He says you are wearing them... so I figure they were on my head so put my hand up there to put them on and they are not there... and his response... no, you are WEARING them.
There they were pearched on my nose right where they should be.
I was so intent on finding them that I sould have realised something was up when I could see him clearly across the living room... but was so irritated by his laughing that I didn't even notice...

Our next trade I'm going to ship you a box of scented permanant markers. Remember those? I only know where they are because they are in a sealed box of classroom supplies. I've already managed to loose 6 pairs of sissors in this house in less then 2 months so no more breaking into classroom boxes for me.
As far as my box goes...For god sakes Jay help her find that marker!!! lol

I could drive over there with one but Murphy's Law is that the moment I head that direction, she finds hers. :secret: Maybe I should just tell her I'm on my way over with a marker... that ought to do the trick!

To keep my pens and pencils from repeatedly dissapearing in my classroom, I found a bunch of tacky silk flowers some green garden tape (? whatever they use to tape up silk flowers) and a bunch of pens and pencils. I wrapped them in the green tape added the tacky flower stem onto the pencil/pen so it sat on the top. Took a terracotta pot and stuck em all in there. After a while they started to dissapear anyways.
So I had pencils made up which were very inexpensive through a catalog that I was pretty sure no one would want to be caught dead with outside my classroom.
The inscription said I HEART MS. GALLAGHER!!!!! With hearts & flowers rofl....The kids thought they were hilarious and eventually stole them all too. But it was worth it to see the reaction of some of the kids who I wasn't a favorite to.

Its funny with me, most of the time I'm pretty easy going and roll with things and am happy to shrug most things off. Then there's the occasional other time, when 'Must Control With Iron Fist of Death' takes over the body. But usually that's reserved for bossy family members. :;):

Forcast for the week 25-30 during the day 14-19 during the night. Holy cow! I'm still not used to the drastic temp changes, growing up on the ocean the temps dropped & increased but not so abruptly in a few hours.
You know I totally forgot about the dry foods! After just spending $22 bucks to get Instant BBS from J&L last night. Seeing the cory eggs and figuring I should in theory have fry soon in a panic I ordered it last night. Shipping cost as much as the stupid food! I'm going to start buying the stuff in NY ($ 3.99) and selling it here for $8 lol. I have to stop doing the price comparison stuff I know, but its maddenning. I need to move to BC, can't find a darn thing I want in Toronto. The minute I'd move all the places I'd like to shop would close mind you and reopen here, just cause.
I know you have no intention of telling me what's in the box! That's just wrong!

I was looking for Ocean Nutritions Instant Baby Brine Shrimp. Cause that's what completely sane rational people who can't sleep at 4 am do you see. I know BA's doesn't carry it anymore or at least the newer version that can sit in the fridge for 6 weeks. And since I knew I wouldn't be making it to the LFS again till about Thursday and seeing how I have brown fertilized trilineatus eggs now woo! I bit the bullet and bought it.
So far I've only been to Big Al's (Thornhill, Scarborough, Missisagua, Newmarket, Northern Fish Breeders & Finatics-Mike is a really nice guy and gave me two plywood stands free. He's changing his store to mainly cichlids, pleco's & I believe cories. He had some absolutely stunning discus as well. He also has some really cute albino high fins that I'd love, but at the moment but being in the middle of building the fishroom and my QT tanks being occupied or spoken for it wasn't the time. As it is I still have to move all of my snails to 2 new larger tanks, and I so don't wanna.
I'd like to get to Menagerie & Mike mentioned a place called Wong's as well. Just a matter of time I'm thinking. I'm trying to get Ciddian over here but I think she's busy she traded me some lovely plants from the store she works at PJ's, have to get over there as well! Man, that's a lotta stores anyone got a few grand I can borrow? ::D: See what I mean? I'm safer shopping online--most of the time. *waits for lightning*

Kat, microworms are another that I feed my all my fry. It can get sour smelling but that's a good thing, as then I know when it's time to start a new culture. I've used the Instant Baby Brine shrimp too. Didn't use it all up before it started to go off. I'm a bad one for trying to save and stretch out food, Melody's bottom bites is another instance where I dole out tiny little chunks to my tanks. The booger is everyone loves them, I have not found anything else to makes all fish go crazy when one of those pops into the tank.

The husband can deal with frozen water fleas, brine shrimp, bloodworms in the freezer. Weird jugs of green water bubbling under lamps in the basement but he puts his foot down at microworms and anything like it. And to honest, I don't think I can do it yet. Worms remind me of maggots, maggots freak me out more then anything. This comes from a Biology teacher who dissects eyes, cats, pigs, sharks, hearts, muscles etc. but worms :nah: :Eeewww: :Frog: Instant BBS is the way forward! I'm thinking about doing eel vinegar and daphina that I can handle. Cultures growing at school fine, in the house eeeekkk!
