Ok, so this weekend i decided is the re-aquascape time...
My question...can mix eco complete with gravel? I want to try some different things and full eco complete i think will cause me to claim bankruptcy.
what would you folks mix with eco complete and still have the plant benefits...will mix still be ok?
I'm going to buy a whack load of plants too. I want my show tank back...it looks yucky right now

I've got Eco Complete in my 55 gallon. It is higher along the back and two sides, the front has black sand (I think it is called Tahitian Moon Sand?). Blends in well with the Eco and looks great along the front. Plants are planted where the Eco is. I only used 2 bags Eco in my 55.

yup tahitian moon sand it is.
Mixing eco complete and gravel is absolutely fine as long as you dont put too much regular gravel. Dont go over 50% regular gravel and you will be fine. I have a mix of eco and regular gravel in my 10gal
I will get a pic of that tank for you.

I layered Eco-complete with Profile on top. Everything seems hunky-dory. The black pebbles in Eco-complete are fairly light and rose to the top of the gravel over time which made my gravel lose its uniform colour but oh well...

Eco-complete is designed so that the large gravel pieces rise to the top and the finer stuff goes to the bottom. You will notice a layering in your tank after a while when using this product. Also remember DO NOT RINSE this stuff. Everything in the bag is meant to go in your aquarium! If you mix this substrate remember how it is designed to work before mixing it with another substrate.
