I saw a review for this and it sounds very good. In fact, its so good its being used in a university aquaculture course.

Microcosm Ltd / TFH Publications, the book's publisher, calls it "the first detailed guide to amateur marine fish breeding."

The new book, which describes techniques for spawning and rearing almost 100 different marine species, already is considered a breakthrough in the field and essential for both amateurs and commercial breeders.

"Author Matt Wittenrich is gifted with the patience and rational powers of observation that enable him to capture the important details," an amazon.com review said.

Wish they'd write one like this for other groups of fish! Best yet, its cheap! Only $23.33 on Amazon.ca.

His parents no longer worry about their son's preoccupation with finny things.

"They are extremely proud," Wittenrich said.

"For years, they were so apprehensive I would turn into some crazy kid."

Its great to see books coming out for advanced keepers/breeders. Its been done in other languages but doesn't seem to make it into English. Maybe the internet has increased the demand over here. I want to read it and I don't even keep marine fish.

If it is received well (& it most likely will be), the publishers will be open to publishing more along the same line I would think.

Perhaps Melody should write a book on breeding livebearers?

Perhaps she should... unfortunately, people would point and laugh....lol...I wish I was qualified for that, but I am SO not. Much to learn yet! I can fake it pretty well when I have to though, if that counts. :;): I'd love to see something like that collaborated on by some of the seniors in the ALA though.
