Corydoras Trilineatus
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m103/katalyst_x/CoryJulie-1.jpg
Common name: Three Lined Cory, Leopard Cory, False Juli Cory
Scientific name: Corydoras Trilineatus
Family: Callichthyidae
Origin: Peru
Adult size: 2.5 inches
Tank Specs
Minimum Tank Size: 10 gallons
Water Parameters (PH/GH/KH):
PH 6.0-7.2 is recommended mine do just fine in 7.6 although I did adapt them slowly with a drip over a period of several hours.
GH 4.0 - 18.0
Temperature:72 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit/22-26 degrees Celsius
Special Requirements: Sandy or bare bottom substrate to protect their barbels from breaking/wearing down. Plants, rocks, caves or pots should be added to provide cover and hiding spots.Suitable Tankmates: Small tetras, Discus, Livebearers, Gouramis, Danios, Killifish, P. Bridgesii, Asolene Spixi, Bee Shrimp, Amano Shrimp, Red Cherry Shrimp, Bristle Nose Pleco's, other cory species.
Minimum Group Size: 6+
Diet:Omnivorous bottom feeder, will accept flakes, sinking pellets, bloodworms, krill, tubifex, shrimp pellets, algae wafers, tropical tablets, brine shrimp, cooked zucchini and cucumber.
Sexing: Females are slightly larger then males and have a more rounded appearance.
Breeding and Reproduction: Heavy rainfall/drops in barometric trigger spawning. A large water change and a slight drop in temperature (5 degrees) can induce spawning. Recently I added an oversized air pump to provide a strong current and that seemed to do the trick in my tank, the use of a power head has also been using to trigger spawning. C. Trilineatus may spawn in a spawning mop, on the leaves plants, in java moss or directly on the glass. C. Trilineatus may eat their eggs so removing them from the glass and raising them separately may be your best option. Keep water parameters pristine and an air stone in with the eggs to create movement in the water. Remove any eggs which fungus. Fertile eggs will turn a brownish/tan shade and should hatch within 4-6 days.
