Diet: Omnivorous fish but don't need much vegetation. They like worms of all kinds, krill, shrimp and pellets for carnivorous or omnivorous fish. Sexing: Very difficult.
Breeding and Reproduction: They start to breed when they are around one year old or around 4 in. Spawn thousands of eggs on flat surfaces. They dig a pit and keep the fry there to grow for about a week. They are orange & white striped when they are young.
Notes: If you take good care of them, they can live for at least 10 years. They are very friendly fish and can recognize their owners!!!
