Botia almorhae *Yo Yo Loach*
Common name: Yo Yo Loach
Scientific name: Botia almorhae
Family: Cobitidae
Origin: Nepal Bangledesh India
Appearance: They have the yo yo pattern when they are young (it looks like it says yo yo on them). When they get older they get a reticulated pattern.
Adult size: 5-6"
Tank Specs: Fine substrate. Low light.
Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
Water Parameters (PH/GH/KH): 6.5-7.5 ph
Temperature: 75-80
Special Requirements: Hiding places (caves and plants).
Suitable Tankmates: Community fish that aren't shy or nervous.
Minimum Group Size: 3
Diet: Omnivorous. They will eat everything such as algae wafers, flakes, algae and shrimp but their favorite is snails!!!
Sexing: Males may have red around barbels. Females plump with long sharp face.
Breeding and Reproduction: I don't think they have bred in captivity
Notes: If you have pest snails these fish will get rid of them fast!!!!
