Adult size: Males 5.5 cm, Females 4.5 cm
Tank Specs:
Minimum Tank Size: 10 gallons for a pair, 20 plus for adults and fry.
Water Parameters (PH/GH/KH): pH 6.5-7.2
Temperature:23 – 27 C
Special Requirements: Subdued lighting, densely planted tanks with lots of hiding places.
Tank Mates: Other peaceful community fish
Minimum Group Size: N/A
Diet: Omnivorous, a variety of live, frozen and freeze dried foods, infusatoria. All though they are omnivores they will occasionally eat algae off of tank walls.
Sexing: Males possess a long, well developed gonopodium, the females do not. Colouration and markings are identical in both males and females.
Breeding and Reproduction: Livebearers that will produce fry every 28 days, parents will not eat fry if kept well fed.
Notes: This photo does not do them justice; they are one of the prettiest livebearers I’ve seen to date. The fish are very shy and peaceful fish; they greatly appreciate densely planted tanks and lots of hiding places to feel safe and secure.
