Scientific name: xiphophorus evelynae

Family: Poeciliidae

Origin: Central America, Mexico

Adult size: Males up to 2", females, about 2.5"

Tank Specs:

Minimum Tank Size: 15G,
Water Parameters (PH): pH: 6.8-7.5
Temperature: 22°c-27°c
Special Requirements: A tank with alot of hiding places, these fish just love to hide, and need cover to feel secure. They like planted tanks and will even eat some algaes in the tank.Suitable Tankmates: Do not house with swordtails, or platies. They will interbreed. Do not house with large or agressive fish.

Minimum Group Size: Any (more females than males needed when breeding)

Diet: Omnivore

Sexing:Males have a gonopodiam gonopodium and are smaller than females which lack a gonopodium.

Breeding and Reproduction: Livebearers, females will become gravid and produce fry. Once fry are dropped, it will take between 3-4 months to reach sexual maturity.

Notes: I love these fish. They are so much fun to keep. They also like to eat algea (from what i have seen).
