I'll let the Cichlid gurus answer your questions, but there's lotsa pictures of them here (http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=Bolivian%20Ram%20Cichlid&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi). Very attractive fish.

Yeah I started out with community fish to, livebearers, gouramis, tetras ect. but I wanted something with more color and personality. Tetras just dart around doing the samethinngs all day. Kribs and angels (I don't know about rams quite yet) explore the tank moving plants and rocks to make it more of their home, it's really interesting.

My two bolivian rams (male and female) seem to have topped out at a bit over 2 inches each . Their colours are more subtle than the blue and german rams I've seen, but their fins have grown out nicely, especially when they flare them out in displays.

I don't have kribs in with them, but my aggression experience in my community has been pretty mild for cichlids. The only other cichlid in the tank is a much bigger angel (3" long, 6" high) who they occasionally take runs at (and visa versa), but nothing serious as he's mostly near the top and they stay near the bottom. For the other fish in the tank (gourami, clown loaches, pleco, black ghost knife) there's very little interaction with the rams. The worst I've seen is between the two rams themselves. Once in a while they'll lock jaws with one biting the other's lower jaw, and just hold like that for a minute or so. Not sure if its mating behaviour or what. Most of the time they each stay in their own end of the tank though.

Never add rams to a tank with kribs unless its atleast a 30+ gallon tank kribs will kick the crao out of the rams..
