I have these two cories who were just moved from another tank to this one with the black eco substrate. They look totally different against this color than when they were in a bare bottom tank. I'd love to know what kind they are and hopefully, the sex? And I know there was a link somewhere on the site here that had tons of cories for sale, common and not so common. I've searched here and have yet to find it. I'll keep looking but thought someone might know right away the link.

Thanks all.

Nice looking corys. I don't know much about corys so I'm no help there. I'm not sure to which thread you are referring but you can always check the various cory profiles in the Profiles: Fish and More (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61) section. Good luck ID'ing them.

Hi Jay, I did try the Profiles but I think it was a thread. I'll keep searching. So far, I think it is a trili, julis seem to be hard to come by? But even if a trili, still a neat little cory which I'd like to try at breeding. I guess my next quest is to look for trili breeders.

If I come across the thread, I'll be sure to let you know. Also, hopefully, one of our resident cory gurus might pop in later and provide the answer for you.

yes, jason is right.. they are corydoras trilineatus.

and it shouldn't be hard to find these as they are failry common in pet shops all over the place and aren't overly expensive as well

They are expensive around here. Like $20 a peice.

My petsmart just dropped their price to $4.99 and i was thinking of getting a few.

$20 each for False Jullii? That's insane! I think Petsmart has a better grip on the value of common fish. I bought them about 6 years ago from a mixed Cory tank for under $5 each. He had 4 or 5 different species in the tank for the same price and I bought some of each. I don't expect breeders and small fish stores to match big box buying power prices, but $20 is ridiculous. Funny how varied prices can be across the same country.
