APPLESNAILS & FANCY MTS!

These snails are from top breeder stock, obtained from several sources for a diverse gene pool. They are raised in an ideal environment including Coral, Tufa Rock and Texas Holey Rock with added Liquid Calcium for strong, healthy shell development. Their diet is high in fresh vegetables, calcium and protein. Sizes range from pea-size to breeder-size, depending on what is on hand.

All of these snails love many different varieties of algae, keep your plants clean of dead & dying foliage, clean up left over food & even undetected dead fish. The Applesnails produce infusoria and are a wonderful worker for fry tanks. A very important part of the naturally maintained aquarium! One snail, of course, can only do so much, so you may want to combine their algae eating skills with other algae eaters, or breed/purchase more as your requirements dictate.

:snail: Fancy MTS: Ember - I probably have the only selectively bred fancy MTS on the planet...lol. MTS are substrate dwelling snails which usually remain buried through the day unless extremely overpopulated. This means that you get all of the benefits, from substrate aeration to algae eating to clean up crew, but you don't have to see the men at work ;) . When you do see them you won't yawn at the dull brown MTS variety commonly seen, because you'll have fancy MTS! The Ember fancies have varying shades of gold setting off trailing red splotches resembling a burning ember. They do not eat healthy plants!

:snail: P. Bridgesii Applesnails - These Applesnails grow to around the size of a golfball and come in many vibrant colors. They do not eat healthy plants!

:snail: Marisa Applesnails - These Applesnails can grow from 1.5" to 2" across! Awesome novelty for your plantless tank!

:snail: A. Spixi Applesnails - Spixies are a plant-safe Applesnail which gets to about marble size or a bit bigger. Stripe pattern varies widely.

Please note: The color, shade and pattern of each snail species can vary according to age, genetics, environment and health. The lighting, camera flash and depth of the water can also cause variances in appearance without any intentional changes.

Just came home with my lastest order of Bottom Bites. Most of my fish and snails have had and love them like candy. This is the first time my youngest fry have ever tasted them. They went nuts over them! He's a picture of the wee ones given their first taste.

Scratchies are back!

I have a bunch of 'scratchies' available again! These are healthy P. Bridgesii Applesnails with cosmetic shell damage, giving them one degree or another of a 'scratchy' look, hence the name :;): . The new growth will be perfect if the water parameters are good.

They make excellent janitors/algae eaters or breeders and will still grow into pretty snails. Most are dime size or larger. The mix will be mostly pink with ivory, blue & purple mixed in, my choice of colours/ratios.

5/$4 or 10/$7 (multiples of 5/10 only)

These sell out very quickly so don't delay!
