Jay and I had a nice chat with Paul at Pacific Aquatics about this rock. It looks very good and if I hadn't been told, I probably wouldn't have known it wasn't "real" live rock. I recall Paul saying that it is less dense than the standard Fiji live rock. This of course means that a given volume of cultured live rock will actually cost less than the same amount of Fiji live rock.

Nice to here that the locals are turning to culturing - everybody wins.

As Mr. GP said, if we hadn't been told we would not have known it was cultured live rock. It's beautiful! The awesome thing is that we can have live rock without the damage to the reefs and are helping the local economy by encouraging culturing as opposed to harvesting. In my books, that's a win-win situation!
