I have at least 6 pairs of young Green Goodeids for sale. I am letting them go for $25 a pair.

They are about 4.5 months old ... the only reason is that it is almost Christmas time and it is time to share the wealth.

This would be a first come first serve basis.

@ Melody, I have reserved a pair for you, should you want them too.

Cheers
Marge

p.s. If I am late replying your mails; please accept my apologies first cos I have a hectic schedule at work and I have yet to bother Melody for her snails too ... prolly next year by the looks of things.:biggrin:

These fish are beautiful - can't say enough good about them. Marge has done a wonderful job raising them. They are the Jesus Maria population - the greenest of all Green Goodeids.

Yes, Ma'am, I do need another pair - shipped mine off to Blaine. I have a zillion snails to populate those tanks with in exchange too. OH and remember that Steve wants a pair. I'll take his and ship them when it warms up a bit as we're doing a trade anyway.

If anyone has a Livebearer lover in their family, these rare gems are a PERFECT gift - they're even green! :)

You evil temptress! Time to go see if I have any more room in my tanks. How big do they get and how big a tank do they need?

Now you just have to get them to me so I can send poor Steve his box.

Mr. SB, if Ms. Amber doesn't have Paypal, you can Paypal the funds to me and I'll go Christmas shopping.... er... I'll pay her. No, REALLY! LOL It only takes a couple of days to transfer it to my bank account. One of you can cover the Paypal fees because I'm going broke paying them for everyone  . OR you can do an e-mail bank transfer to her directly, which is perfectly safe IF you trust the seller, for future reference. If you don't know/trust the seller, there is no consumer protection in place like there is with Paypal. End of lecture. ;)

If you need a hand with the bank transfer stuff, gimme a shout & I'll walk you through it. All you need is a bank account that is set up for online banking. NO banking information is revealed. Its done through Interac:

http://www.certapay.com/en/index.html

Ms. Amber gets a notification that Mr. SB has sent a payment, Mr. SB gives her a password, and voila, money is deposited.

Okay now, who is Steve??? Hehehehehe

Melody
Nov 29th 2006, 10:47 AM
Steve is my Latin lover from Latinland. He likes fish so I spoil him in the hopes that his charming richness will marry me.

Oh... sorry, wasn't quite awake yet, still dreaming ;) . Steve is the guy with the wet pants over there. A most excellent fishkeeper who has already done an awesome job with some of the wild-types I brought in. He is now addicted according to my evil plan, and would like more fishies. Both of these gentlemen will probably treat them even better than I will, in fact...lol. I'm threatening to put my wild-types on a diet or buy the recipe for Emerald Entre'.

I can hold Mr. Grandpoohbear's  here too if you like - I am holding his snails hostage so he'll be stopping buy to fight me for them soon. Then you can get all three done with at once, since you're too busy to breathe, and I can earn free pairs, maybe a dozen or two  .

I'll take a pair as long as they will do ok in a 10G by themselves. I will hopefully be picking up my snails from Melody this weekend (weather permitting). If you are already heading that way then you can drop them off there and I can pay you via Paypal or I can leave cash with Melody when I pick them up. Thanks.

Methinks we have to get Ms. Amber a Paypal account. This would solve everything. If she'd just set still for a few seconds...

Nah, the bank transfer thingy works fine with me, or they could pay you and then you could pass me the money .... LOL:yes:

Melody
Dec 2nd 2006, 11:51 PM
I will take any and all money, tips, donations and bonuses....lol.

Sure Luv, whatever I can do to help everyone get what they want.

But the question is, when are you doing this? I need to have a q-tank ready for Steve's fishies and once it warms up a bit I'd like to get the poor man his box of goodies.... of course, then I get MY box of goodies - I'm no saint :Frog: . Speaking of me and my needs, I also need that Java Moss.... and a zillion dollars cash, if I could please.

Those snails of yours are growing like weeds, such beauties.... (if demands don't work, try temptation).

They look so good, I may keep them, especially those Ivories... (or threats).

So if we could please please please get this all done with (or beg) I would appreciate it. ;)

Depends on when she's coming - its hard for me to get to a bank machine and I was just there...lol...shouldn't be a problem if she gives me some notice though.

Just checked - I behaved more than I thought today...lol....I have the cash here if the lovely and talented Marge wants to drop off the suave Mr. SB's fishies to me when we do our trade. That oughta work it all out simply enough.:D

amber2461
Dec 6th 2006, 10:37 AM
What time are you free today? I will be going out soon, if you are not home, then it will be at a later time again, damn .... woman, pick up the phone and call me

Cheers

Melody
Dec 6th 2006, 11:42 AM
I can't believe I actually answered the phone this morning. The most unbelievable part is that it wasn't a telemarketer on the other end. It was that elusive Marge chick. Elvis lives! lol So for the information of Mr. SB and anyone else bored enough to read my ramblings, your fishies are bought, paid for and soon to be in my tanks!:pompom:

Does this make me a trans-shipper? I need a title for my resume' .

amber2461
Dec 7th 2006, 10:38 AM
More surprising was the fact that I heard you pickup the phone ... nearly fell off the chair ...

The fishes were easy to catch ... this time ... they haven't seen much of the net ... yet ... so ... :red_dance:

Cheers

Thanks for dropping them off Marge - they sure are beauties. Hope you're happy to have snails in your tanks again. I got a tad carried away but I felt bad that you lost them all at no fault of your own. I was scooping them and scooping them and then remembered the size of the tanks so I thought I should stop or you'd yell at me :realmad: lol. The moss is awesome too - really needed that for all of these birthing Livebearers.

Anyways, I have to highly recommend Ms. Amber, she has truly done an exceptional job raising these fish.

Payment sent to Melody...thanks guys I can't wait! Now I'm all in the Chrismas spirit of getting and receiving

Melody
Dec 8th 2006, 01:39 PM
Thank you sir! Now I can afford a present for little Timmy....lol.

I don't see any reason why I can't send the box on Monday, so that's what I'll do. Don't let me forget to send you a heatpack too. We'll work it all out in PM - step into my office  .

Now here's the funny part - I lost one of your fish. No, not LOST lost, lost as in couldn't find it. I was netting them out of the bag, your two fish were the ones left in there as they were going into a q-tank for shipping. No sense in exposing them to my tanks and doubling their risk of picking something up.

So I net one, go back to get the other one, and its gone. I hold the bag up to the light, poke it, shake it, gently pour it into a strainer - no fish. I frantically search around the container that was holding the bag - nadda. The only thing I can think of is it got into the net with the other one. I look in the tank but there's a lot of floating plants in there. I see one, not the other. I stir up the plants, keep looking, just one.

I go to feed them this morning, and two lovely Green Goodeids scarfed down that flaked Krill like there was no tomorrow. I haven't a clue where it was, but I'm very glad it showed up again....lol.

Dec 8th 2006, 01:55 PM
Phew !!!! Don't scare me again woman ... LOL

Melody
Dec 8th 2006, 04:36 PM
Told you I lose everything....lol.

Soggybottom
Dec 9th 2006, 11:14 AM
Wow, what a coincidence! I'm having trouble finding any of the fish I was gonna send you! I just can't see a single one! I wonder where they went? How strange and inexplicable! :err:

Melody
Dec 9th 2006, 03:32 PM
Maybe they know I somehow manage to lose fish between a bag and a tank. Can't blame them there. Hmm..... announce loudly that even though I can't find them, I feed them well....

When I can find the food.....

Even more embarassing, we've managed to clutter Marge's thread. On topic but a great deal of rambling by a certain someone...lol...I'm horrible for that, y'all are going to have to start rapping my knuckles.

So to get things back on track, Ms. Amber, how many pairs are left for sale?

amber2461
Dec 11th 2006, 01:29 AM
LOL .... 4 more pairs are available ... no worries, if you lose them, you can always buy another pair off me ...

amber2461
Mar 12th 2007, 12:33 AM
Those 4 pairs are still available.

Mar 12th 2007, 12:36 AM
OMG - its the ghost of Marge :swoon: !

Good to v-see you girl! Don't be such a stranger!

My pair is doing absolutely wonderful! They're tough & healthy - love them to pieces. That price is still ridiculously cheap too - these are rare Livebearers.

amber2461
Mar 12th 2007, 12:50 AM
Hey Mel

You hinting that I should sell them at $35 then? These ones are much larger than the ones I sold to you earlier.

Nice to be back, work has been hectic ...

Melody
Mar 12th 2007, 01:08 AM
Yup, you should, or more even. I'm betting we (as in the people who got them from us) have the only colonies in Canada at this point.

People best grab them before I talk some sense into you  .

Melody
May 12th 2007, 03:30 AM
A little birdy tells me that Ms. Marge has some of these beauties available. I know a lot of you are always on the look-out for cool wild-types and they don't get much cooler than the Green Goodeids. They also need our help to preserve the species. They don't give birth to as many fry as commercial Livebearers, nor as often, so you won't be overwhelmed with fish in a few months. They're also born HUGE so colony breeding is successful. Great for a Mexican biotope tank even!

A must for every serious Livebearer collection - easy to keep & breed, unique and absolutely stunning. Can't say enough good about them or the lady breeding them. Get 'em before they're gone!

May 12th 2007, 11:46 AM
I.ll take a pair, see if i can squeeze them into my 8ft tank lol
i wonder if she ships them?? hope so::D:
we dont get a lot of variety in the interior, i would be nice to have some different fish

She's looking into shipping & I'll be happy to coach her. She doesn't get in often as she works weird hours, so you may want to try a PM.

I've had a LOT of oddball Livebearers come through here - its my main focus, and they remain a fave. Its nice to have that higher purpose there in preservation too.

are these as aggrsssive as some of the other goodeids out there???

Mine are somewhat aggressive with each other, but they tend to ignore other fish.

Melody
May 12th 2007, 07:29 PM
Most of the wilds would seem more aggressive than say... a Platy, but they don't do any damage and as mentioned, its usually only each other that they go after. I call the Splendens and Eiseni semi-aggressive because they're pugnacious nippers, but these I'd class as pure community - I've seen Tetras that are meaner....lol.

Mine are in with Limia fry, which are a docile fish even as adults, and they aren't in the least afraid of the Greens.

Melody

Adam, if you decide you want some, make payment arrangements with Marge and if she's willing to drop them off here, I'll add them to your shipment from me. No sense in you paying for another shipment and its not a whole lot more trouble to bag & pack a couple of extra fish. We're all in this together!

I'd like to rest the new shipment for a couple of weeks as one week didn't quite cut it before reshipping last time. This shipment is coming in overnight so they shouldn't be as stressed as last time though. Regardless, there's some breathing space there for you to make arrangements.
