Ya know you have 'em! What do you hope Santa will bring you this year in the fishie category?

I've been innocently listing the stores which have gift certificates for the kid to take note of :secret: . Otherwise, he fills my stocking with all sorts of little fishie stuff and I really like digging through that stuff, like bags of nice rocks, fish ornaments, etc.

My biggy isn't for the tanks though - I've been wanting these two big pewter fish carvings that I saw at the mall. I have an entertainment center that was custom built to go around the 90G, so I want them to go on that. Its black so it should look good.

List your fish wishes and innocently direct family and friends to this thread! lol

I have already put the bug in my dad's ear for a master test kit. My old one is running out and I really really really want a new one. I don't need any bigger tanks, I have 3 tanks that are empty right now and I think I am going to do some tank shuffling and get rid of some of the smaller tanks. I am allowing my current stock to die out (they are getting older UC), then I am going to have only live bearers and my display 55G tank.

I wouldn't mind some new plants, I have very little variety among my tanks so something new might be in order. Let's see what else? Some Tufa rock would be nice, and maybe some bottom bites, and hmmmm....some more snails perhaps? (hint hint, nudge nudge.....talk to my hubby about that :) )

<spots a basket from Christmas last year....> It just so happens that I'm offering snail baskets! Only $99.99! And if you act now you get this <searching the room> free plastic plant that I just soaked in too much bleach so its... um... its an original! One of a kind plastic plant!!!!

Items may not be exactly as shown or remotely close. Some conditions may apply... I'll let you know as & when.

My family knows well enough how an*l I am about fishy things so they wouldn't even think about buying anything fish related for me. Ain't I a stinker?

I usually head out with another fish buddy early Boxing day and make a route of 2 or 3 fish stores to stock up supplies for the year. Usually back home by 10 before the family even gets up. Been doing that for the last 3 years so it's become a ritual now.

Snail baskets...any Boxing Day clearouts?

ROFL At those prices, chances are there would be lots left over for a Boxing Day Sale.

Methinks you should get gift certificates for fishie stores then. They fit nicely into a stocking  .

Back by 10? Man it doesn't take you all day to do nuthin'!

I can't hog all the Boxing Day events, gotta let the rest of the family out to do their thing too. It's pretty quick, pick up my buddy @ 6:30am, be outside J&L's lineup by 7, in and out within 30 minutes (crowded & busy!!) and hit a couple more stores along our route. We pretty much know what we want, no critters, all maintenance stuff.

Hmmm, maybe we should start a CAC road trip on Boxing Day?

LOL That would be fun... or a network, going with the 'connection' theme. Cell phones ringing, I'll snag your fishie-widgets at this store if you'll snag my snail-widgets at the other store across town.... we could have it all down to a science!:D

Now who is going to co-ordinate my latest wacky plan?

HEY! Where did everybody go?

Could you please tell me which mall you'll be at when you sit on Santa's knee to ask for those? I'd really like to get a pic. We'll post it here - ho ho ho & all that.

I want new lighting for my tank, so I subtly have bookmarked the page on the JL Aquatics website of what I want...told my wife that I am doing "research". Hopefully she catches on! *lol*

E-mail the link to her and ask her opinion because its something you REALLY want, but <melodramatic sigh> you just can't justify the expense. You'd rather spend the money on her and the little one. Yes, you will just go without, so disregard the e-mail....

I highly doubt it will work, but hopefully she'll find it endearing and amusing enough to take the hint:Holiday-8: lol.

Endearing and amusing? Me? I don't know if she would buy it!

Well then, you only have one option - offer a gift to her of an equal or lesser value.

I am still trying to come up with her Christmas list to tell you the truth. I am having buyers block!

Hahaha...she tolerates me having my tank, that is enough. SHe has implemented the "no more tanks" clause in our marital agreement! Hahaha!
