YVR will be the only North American stop for the Airbus A380 as it visits 10 different airports worldwide on four trips....

Unfortunately, the A380 visit to YVR is not open to the public. The aircraft will not be visible from any pre-security parts of the terminals and due to the parking position of the aircraft and time of day for arrival and departure, there will be no suitable outdoor viewing points. The public is advised that the best view of the A380 will be through local media coverage.

OH YEAH?!

Well my Son took off with his Father this afternoon to see if they could get a glimpse of the A380. His Father works at the Airport. It was getting dark and snowing so the pic's suck, but at least he can prove that he was there...lol. This was also at a 10X zoom:

It was quite a thrill for him. :)

Lucky kid! And, he's got pics to prove it!

Up until a year ago I spent all day (every working day) going back and forth to the airport, so if I was still doing that job I might have had a chance to glimpse it taking off. The odds were against me. Even yesterday, did I get a run at the airport? :no:No, me and my bus spent the day trudging up the snow-covered hills of Coquitlam!

Well I didn't see it either - my 12 year old has a more exciting life than I do... how sad is that? lol
