Gage & Claudia,
Do you have a heater in your ACF tanks?
I bought a little lonely skinny one at the pet store and she ended up floating then dying. I was thinking I should have given her a heater, but I thought they didn't mind room temperature water... I used to take care of some in a university lab ages ago and they didn't have heaters either.
Also, do you use a filter?
I read somewhere that the noisy vibrations of a filter really stresses them out.

I do have a filter, air stone and heater. They eat what ever they find on the gravel like left over food from the fish but i do feed them frog bites that my catfish love eat it. Here is a picture of 2 of them

They're cute. The blue gravel really shows them off too.

Hey Claudia, those are DWARF african clawed frogs (Hymenochirus boettgeri) you have there.
Sorry, I thought you guys were talking about regular african clawed frogs (Xenopus laevis) like the one in Canadian's picture...
I do find the Xenopus kind of ugly too, but they have winning personalities! I wouldn't recommend mixing them with fish. They get too big and they're real piggy.
I think a couple of Hymenochirus in a tank would be cool, but not with bottom-feeding fish because the frogs are prone to feeding frenzies (i.e., lunge-biting at anything that moves)!!!

Cool frogs!!!! I went and got myself 2...I also got myself a 20 gallon tank. Thanks for replying :)
Now I was wondering if there are any lizard that live in the aquarium with the fish?

NO WAY!!! Lizards can't go in a fish tank!!!
Just get another tank and have fun decorating for a reptile! A leopard gecko would be a good choice for a first lizard. Mine is such a sweetheart.
If you want to keep the aquatic feel, set up a cold-water tank for NEWTS! Both the California/Oregon/Rough-skinned newts (Torosa sp.) and the firebelly newts (Cynops sp.) are mostly aquatic and a lot of fun to keep. Just be sure to stick with only one species in the tank; amphibians don't mix like fish do. The only fish I would put in a newt tank are white cloud mountain minnows.
Check out caudata.org (http://www.caudata.org) for more info on "lizard-like" amphibians.

Hey Amaruq,
Those are two of my rope fish (Erpetoichthys calabaricus). I have three. They're probably around 9" long now, brown on top and orange underneath... I LOVE THEM!!!
They need a big tank (at least 70 gallons) with a secure cover. They are kind of shy, mostly nocturnal, and carnivorous. They are the WHOLE REASON I GOT INTO AQUATICS!!!

They are cool!!! My tank is too small for those but it's interesting to learn about other fish! Thanks for the info :)
