I read posts at guppies.com forum and notice they have a Guest Forum, place where a guest can post up to 5 times.

Since this is the only forum I post on, although I do belong to the oscarfish.com forum, I find most times if I can't find an answer somewhere on the net to a question it can be found here.

But wonder if having a guest forum where someone could ask a question without registering would be an idea. Of course have no idea how much work that makes for admin to do.

The main problem with 'Guests' being able to post is Spam. We do have the occasional ones who still take the time to register so they can spam the site. As it is this is an annoyance for members and additional work for the mods/admins. If no registration were required, we'd be flooded with Spam. I have seen that on other sites. Not only do we feel that our members should not be subjected to this, it would be an ongoing battle for mods and admins to stay on top of it. Spam is a serious problem and we do not want to do anything to encourage it.

Its an awesome idea James and I think its based on a great concept. Unfortunately spammers ruin most good things. Thanks for sharing the thought, maybe we'll find a way to beat the spammers and make it happen.
