Do you use it and what do you do chop it up????? They say it's good for most fish? Any other veggies?

I have never fed my fish romaine lettuce so I'll leave it up to others to advise as to how best to feed it. I feed my fish veggies like zucchini, bok choy, broccoli, and peas (all blanched). (The bok choy I chop up very fine as it is tougher for them to pull apart).

Lots of veggies are listed as ingredients in : Homemade Aqua-Creature Recipes! (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12)

If you get a veggie clip they can rip of pieces themselves if they like vegetables. I blanch romaine but some fish could probably eat it without that.

Amaruq I use the base of it. Cut if off or save when making salad. Attach to a fork(for fish only) and throw it in.

My goldfish go nuts for it, I have to chop it up and put it in each of their mouths though, otherwise the little one's would never get any. I do the same with spinach, my snails, shrimp, pleco's, loaches & cories like it too.

I soften mine in hot water but most fish could rip it without that I'd guess. I break it down a bit for the snails.

Romain is an excellent source of Vitamin K, A & C. It also offers folate, maganese, potasium, iron, calcium, Vitamins B1, B2, B3 & B6 and more. Regular lettuce is pretty much empty though, so don't confuse the two. Most any vegie that is good for you is good for fish if they'll eat it. However, that's only herbivores and omnivores - Carnivores don't digest/utilize vegies well at all.
