I'm having trouble registering there. i.e., I can't! Can someone give me a contact email or something so I can sort out the problem. Thanks!

I always have trouble with it to and the person who owns doesn't like it when you ask or say there is a problem and makes people feel stupid. he does that on the livebearers site too.

Just don't offer any suggestions that imply something might not be to your liking...lol. Getting into Goodeids? I have found them to be an awesome fish - very tough for the most part, carefree and beautiful. They're prolific too - I see my Green Goodeid Mama is going to gift me again soon. But with smaller broods and longer gestations, they don't eat up as much space as some Livebearers can.

I think I can read between the lines.

I got some red tailed goodeids from Blaine via the Auction in October. I'm enjoying them very much. One of the attractions to these fish is the fact that I can keep many of the various species in unheated tanks. I also think the Call me a cheapskate! The other thing I find particularly interesting is the way the young derive nourishment from the mother, unlike poecilid livebearers. Cool stuff!

Wait until you see one give birth... OUCH....lol.
They really are a fascinating fish and definitly prefer an unheated tank, or the ones I've kept have anyway. Cheap has little to do with it for me - I ran out of electrical outlets....lol. I find the Eiseni & Splendens to be nippy in my community tanks, but they make a beautiful species tank, or add interest to a more aggressive community. Others have kept them with community fish though, so it might be a borderline thing.
The Greens are one of the longest I've kept. I've had several species come through here and loved every one of them overall. Definitly a great Livebearer all around and all of the wild-types have enjoyed a jump in popularity lately, so you should be able to move any fry at auctions, etc.
I may ship some Green Goodeid babies down for Herb to pass along to family, which means eventually he'll have access to babies... .

I'm pretty much a species tank kinda guy, but I can see how the eiseni would be boisterous in a community tank.
I'll bug Herb when those fish arrive

Perhaps you could explain that concept to my Amecas, all 4 tanks full !

ROFL Well, it eventually catches up with you, it just takes longer than it would if you had a Swordtail spitting out 150 fry every month. But I can't deny 4 tanks worth of good points you have there:wink: . Speaking of which there's someone here in BC looking for them and I sent them to you.
