The FDA has approved a new antioxidant for animals, PPL-240. The immunity boosting ingredient is GLPH-1. That's all well & good, but the awesome part is they are from natural sources (ferns & botanical yeast, respectively).
... They repair cell damage due to free radicals, UV-A and UV-B rays, muscle damage, and improve digestive health and immune function for humans and animals. Both ingredients are derived from natural, botanical extracts, are organic and Kosher. They are highly stable and water-soluble, and can be used in virtually any type of functional food including candies, beverages, snacks, confections, pet treats, as well as premium veterinary foods and feeds. ~ Gourmetceuticals LLC
Anything natural that I can do to boost immunity, makes me happy. I am pleased with the focus on the natural and organic ingredients these days and I believe we'll be seeing healthier pets as a result. It is also becoming very clear that by feeding our fish a varied and natural-based diet, we stand a very good chance at getting these types of ingredients into them without even knowing it.
I'd like to get my hands on this stuff for my own foods, but chances are I'd have to buy 14 tons of it  . Granted, there was a time that Naturose wasn't available in small sizes either and I have that, so ya never know.
