Ever wonder how long the fish is your tank can be expected to live? Here is a list of the expected Lifespan of Aquarium Fish (http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/beginnerinfo/a/lifespan.htm).
It's actually amazing to see the wide variations in lifespan... anywhere from 1 to 18 years!

LOL... I kind of thought so, but then when I couldn't seem to find it (in the wee hours of the morning), I thought I must have imagined it or had seen it someplace else.

Interestingly, I read somewhere (long ago) and after a little Googleing, Koi can live in excess of 100 years and some websites report as high as 200 years. :err::swoon:
Nothing like having a pet that will probably outlive you ! ( and maybe your grandchildren)

A Koi, owned by a family in the Nagano Prefecture, managed the amazing span of 226 years.

Talk about a lifetime commitment... and then some. I would fret about that. I already fret about leaving my fish behind for others to deal with. I have instructed the family to call Mr. Mykiss and ask him to come get everything & sell it off....lol....if anyone could handle that much stuff and fish, its him.:yes:Besides, he deserves to inherit it all for spoiling me rotten with deliveries & deals over the years::D: . I'd probably have him auction the fish in a Vancouver Aquatic Hobbyist Club benefit.

Yes you did...you posted it somewhere in response to my asking about the lifespan of my glass cats...However first you mentioned it, and pulled the 8 years out of your roll-a-dex you call a memory, then within minutes you found your bookmark! It has satisfied my curiosity many times! You never cease to amaze me!

I'm always grateful for the info that you folks post around here. I'd never think of where to look to find it. You make it so easy. Thanks. I'm glad to have the info but kind of wish I hadn't looked now. Some of my gals will are reaching the 3 yr mark. yikes. Hope they go to 5.
