I am getting better with plants. I am hoping to get some more hygro and maybe some sunset hygro to put across the rest of the back and then shift everything forward.
Here is my 32 gallon.

They look great Pam! I read that the 'original' Hygro species is the easiest and grows the best, so I got some of that too... I can't remember the name of it of course...lol. I did get the others as well so I'll see how their growth compares in my tanks. You're inspiring!

You'll like the corymbosa. The leaves remind me of willow trees. It's easy to grow, too.

Hardy and easy to grow are my kind of plants I am finding.

Yours look very heathy. Hygro is one of the plants that I had success with right from the beginning... not saying it's always the healthiest looking in my tanks but I have never succeeded in killing it, which is saying something.
You're doing well, Pam. Will look forward to more pics as you add plants.

A few years back I had a bunch of hygro that did really well, but it also came with tons of pests snails which was fine, but they multiplied like crazy and ate the plants. Now between the kuhlis in a couple of tanks and the competition with mts they stay to a minimum now. So I thought I would try again.

If you remember back a bit I was having trouble with beard or red algae in this tank. I used excel and got it under control.
Since then I have changed things a bit. I have the lights on 12 hrs with a break in between.
Also instead of putting full amount of pmdd in once a week to make sure it gets used up quicker and the algae does not have a chance to use it, I started doing it 1/2 doses twice a week. So far it is working. What is left of the beard is not get any worse, and I am hoping once adding more plants it will be starved out completely.

I remember your beard algae problem. I too had an outbreak of BBA around the same time or shortly after. Mine is now completely gone... solution in my case was to yank out a bunch of affected plants, (including ripping almost 1/2 the leaves off my huge amazon) sword and add a whole lot of Brigs and cut back on the hours of lighting. The reduced amount of BBA the Brigs and my mollies took care of. Here's hoping it won't be long before the last of the beard algae is gone in your tank.
