View Full Version : Emergency fry trap.

I thought I would post this up, it's a very handy tempory measure
and it has come in handy on several occasions.
Take one ice cream carton, add some polystyrene for ballast and
you have a robust fry trap that floats on top of your tank.
Easy to feed fish in it and water changes are a blast.
handy thing to have if your fry tanks are full.

Very cool - how big are the pieces on the sides? I'm wondering about the perfect amount for stability. My snails can tip any boat it seems...lol.

The tub was about 12" x 6" and the polysteyrine covered both long sides,
you need to bit of trial and error to get it right, but when finished it is very
stable and your pirate snails shouldn't be a problem, lol

As long as I keep the Cana's away it would be fine - they grow to the size of baseballs, will eat the styro and quite possibly small children. :rolleyes:

ROFL Still legal in Europe I believe - try Applesnail.net, Snail Exchange. Lots of Brit's in there.

If the authorities ask, I know nothing!

Yes blainep I agree, far to many small children around now days. Melody send me some snails also please.

Although, yes I did mean the trap was a good idea. (PSSSST - Never mention in public that you have child eating snails, everyone will want one !)
