Official Rules
CONTEST DURATION
Submissions of entries for this contest will begin as of 21:00 PST on February 24, 2008 and will close at 23:00 DST on March 23, 2008. Voting will begin as of 23:30 DST on March 23, 2008 and close at 23:00 DST on April 6, 2008.
ELIGIBILITY
All individuals who are registered members of Canadian Aquarium Connection either at the time of the start of the contest or before the closing date and time of the contest are eligible to enter with the following exceptions. Administrators of Canadian Aquarium Connection, or members of their immediate family and/or those individuals living in the same household of each are NOT eligible. Members who are Banned by Canadian Aquarium Connection as of the closing date of the contest are also NOT eligible. Canadian Aquarium Connection reserves the right to verify all eligibility requirements.
PRIZE ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to win a prize a member must post one tip related to fishkeeping in the Tip of the Day Contest Submissions (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3540) thread. The tip need not be your own original idea but it must be in your own words. Any plagiarism will result in the submission being removed and the member being disqualified from the contest.
Note 1: Only one (1) submission per member is permitted.
Note 2: Tips must not exceed 226 characters in length.
Note 3: Tips must in no way contravene forum Rules and Guidelines (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/announcement.php?f=34).
Note 4: Tips must be text only (no graphics) and cannot contain links.
The prize will only be awarded to a member who upon being notified of having won a prize, provide the Administrator(s) of Canadian Aquarium Connection of a valid Canadian mailing address, to enable the awarding and shipping of the prize to the winner. This confidential information will not be shared with anyone.
PRIZE
The prize for this contest has been provided by www.CanadianAquatics.com (http://www.canadianaquatics.com/) and consists of one (1) Nutrafin computer "fish" mouse. In addition to this prize, the winner will have his/her tip displayed in the scrolling banner at the top of the page of the forum for one day. There will be 6 runner-up prizes which will consists of the recipients each subsequesntly having their tips posted for one day in the scrolling banner at the top of every page.
Additional note: The prizes must be accepted as awarded. Canadian Aquarium Connection reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the prize is unavailable or for any other reason it deems necessary.
PRIZE WINNER
Votes are cast by members and each member is limited to casting only one vote (controlled by the vBulletin software). The winner will be the member whose tip submission received the greatest number of votes by the end of the Contest. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker vote will be run. All decisions of Canadian Aquarium Connection regarding the award of prizes are final.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The winner will be notified by the Administrator(s) by a Private Message on the Canadian Aquarium Connection website the Winner will have 2 weeks (14 days) from the date of attempted notification to reply to this notification and accept his/her prize. Failure to reply within this time frame or non compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification and, at the discretion of Canadian Aquarium Connection, the prize will be revoked.
POSTING OF THE WINNER
The USERNAME of the winner and the runners-up will be posted on the Canadian Aquarium Connection website once the prize has been awarded.
ADDITIONAL TERMS
By participating, members agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and the decisions of Canadian Aquarium Connection and its sponsors, which are final and binding in all respects. Members agree to hold Canadian Aquarium Connection, its sponsors, and their respective families, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers, prize manufacturers/distributers and the respective directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties"), harmless against any and all claims and/or liability arising out of or in connection with participation in this contest, acceptance, use or redemption of a prize, and/or use of any rights granted herein.
Released Parties are not responsible for late, delayed, misdirected, lost, damaged, or undelivered communications, including but not limited to private messages and email; or for any other errors or problems of any kind relating to or in connection with the contest, including, but not limited to errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the contest, the calculation of referrals, the announcement of the prizes or winners or in any contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any injury or damage to person(s) or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from an individual’s participation in the contest.
