A friend of mine gave me some of her pots last summer and I the other day it struck me they'd be great for some pleco pods.

I like how you can lift the lid to check on them & the eggs.

Thanks Jay, I was wondering if they'd take to clear or frosted glass blocks as well. This way you'd be able to at least see shapes or eggs. I picked up a few and have to wait for hubby to drill those out. Terracotta I didn't mind drilling but I'll leave glass breaking to him lol.

Kat what did you use to drill the pot? The husbo's drill with a diamond head drill bit. I think he may kill me if he figures it out.

I put the other one in my newly aquired (L114's) Leopard Cactus Pleco tank & apparently they like it to. I assume this means they are two males since one chased the other off. I have one more to pray is a female! This is a heinous picture that does the fish no justice but he zoomed out of nowhere so I had to act quick.

:smile:Good luck on the other being a female. Fingers crossed here.
I am always looking around for different ideas for cheap caves etc. I have boughten some too, but being able to use everyday things help keep costs down and some of it can be nicer than boughten stuff.

Thanks Pam! Murphy's law will surely make them all male's lol. And since I'm half Murphy....yeah. I agree about stuff laying around all of a suddent having a purpose other then sitting around collecting dust like it has been for the past 9 months!

Non fish related. When my grandfather died we each got a box of assorted stuff. A plate or tea cup etc. from gramma's kitchen. I got a sugar and cream containers, dessert bowl and a bigger bowl from the same set. Not enough to do anything with, so I decided to use them under my violets and at least display them, instead of in the cupboard where not one see them or uses them.

I have my grandmothers china packed up in boxes. I think that's a great idea and perhaps some nice tulip bulbs and crocuses would look nice in one of her bowls. Thanks for sharing that Pam! You are one smart cookie.
