Researchers are puzzled after a hibernating Antarctic Cod is found (http://www.plosone.org/article/fetchArticle.action?articleURI=info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0001743)

"The interesting question we still have to answer," said study co-author Keiron Fraser in a press release, "is why these fish greatly reduce feeding in winter when food is still available.”

Interesting article. There is so much we have yet to learn about aquatic species.

Now if only we humans could learn to 'reduce feeding' in the winter. It might help the waistline which for some of us mysteriously expands over the winter (possibly from both excessive food indulgence over the Christmas season and being much less active because it's simply too darn cold out :twitcy: .)
