Where do you get the flowerpots without holes and are they the best thing for a tub pond? What else do people use? :FishQuestion:

You can get the black inserts that go inside wood kegs that are cut in half. Buckerfield's is where I got mine.

Home Depot has Plastic flowerpots with & without holes. I don't have much room for a pond so I just use a large platic flowerpot.

The inside measurement at it's widest is only 15". They do have larger plastic pots. I'm sure lots of people may have info as to what they've done in the past.

I haven't looked at those. Do you use the liner by itself as an above ground pond?

Yes, it was sturdy enough to use by itself, black though, the color you got Jay, blends better into an area.

Of course, it depends upon where you are putting it. Black pretty much goes with anything. The other thing about flower pots (or at least the one I got is that they are quite tapered at the base, greatly reducing the water volume.

Someone told me it was -30 with 3 feet of snow in Winnipeg recently, so maybe its a bit early yet for some, but how about this, has anyone started planning their pond yet this year?

And believe it or not there was snow mixed in with the rain as I drove home from work shortly after 1 a.m. last night. ... enough already!

However, planning is some of the most fun.
