:CokeSanta: THE GREAT SEAFOOD CHALLENGE! :Holiday-4:

It has come to my attention that canned meats are one thing that the food banks don't get enough of, mainly because they're a tad expensive.

As I was loading the kid down with cans to take to his school's foodbank drive this morning, I was thinking about that little fact and grabbed 4 cans of Tuna that I had sitting there.

It occured to me that we could have a little fun with that. So I, the reigning queen of canned seafood donations, challenge you, yes YOU, to out-donate me. The kid is to take donations everyday until school is out next week. I will be stocking up on canned salmon, tuna and any other seafood I find for donations.

Think you can beat me? Hmmmm? C'mere & say that! :Holiday-7:

I'll give you a running total as the week progresses. You can donate yours at many grocery stores, schools and of course, to the foodbank itself. Post how many you've donated in this thread. The winner will receive  ....

Hmmm...

Oh! I know!

:icon_snail: The coveted FOODBANK FISHIE award! :SwimmingFish:

Signified by a graphic that you can use in your sig. What an honour! Next year we'll do it again!

Why would fish lovers donate dead fish? Because they can't eat feeder Goldfish, silly!

If you lie, Santa won't come to you! :grinch:

So we stand at 4 cans of Tuna, donated by MOI! Challenge my reign if you dare....

Super idea, Melody. Lots of people out there going without. As a seafood lover, I know I sure would appreciate the canned seafood (and lots of nutrition packed in there as well).

As for those of you who are shocked  that I eat seafood, my :goldfish: eat :goldfish: , I'm just a bigger :SwimmingFish:...lol.

Come on gang, rise to Melody's challenge. It's for a good cause.

I'm off shortly to pick up some canned seafood to donate on my way to work. Shall post details tonight upon my return.

Well, we didn't have much canned meat but a co-worker and I just dropped off 34.5 lbs of food that we collected at the office for the Santa Fox food drive. I challenge you all to try and top that!

Yeah, that's right. I'm looking at YOU Melody! Bring it on!

HEY!!!! That's not fair! I said seafood! You can't just make up rules as you go along! That's MY job!!!!

Alright buddy, you're on, but when my kid complains about carrying all of that food on his back, I'm telling him its the fault of that Wallace dude that I talk to on the Internet!

OK... so far I donated just 4 cans of tuna at the Safeway drop box for the food bank. I know I can get some deals and stretch my dollar further on the weekend so will add to it then. Will keep you posted.

Neck & neck on the seafood.... tomorrow is when I'm shopping too so be prepared for battle! I didn't have any to send with him today, so they got their Chunky Soup instead.

Of course, cash donations could be converted to cans of Tuna and you can make your donations online (http://www.cafb-acba.ca/CandyPress/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=1&language=E)....

So you thought you'd outdo me buy buying up all of Walmart's supply of tuna did you? :twitcy: It's OK! I found some tuna at London Drugs. So now, I've upped the stakes... 3 more cans of seafood donated today (at Safeway): 2 cans of tuna & 1 can of salmon.

*Checks cupboards*

How about a box of KD and a bag of microwave popcorn? Does that beat your 12 cans of tuna?
