If you owned a pet store and had all kinds of dogs, parrots and fish at your fingertips every day, what kind of pet would you have at home?

Sharks.

Blacktip reef sharks to be exact.

Ron Dooley, president of the Somethin' Fishy pet store in Fox Lake, has a 3,800-gallon saltwater fish tank at his home in the Lake in the Hills area.

His store also has a 2,000-gallon pond with two lemon sharks.

3,800g tank at home? That's enormous! :swoon: As for the pic of him nand feeding the nurse sharks, I was thinking that one would have to be careful not to lose a finger.:wideeyed:

He's got to gave great supports in his floor for those tanks.

I'll stick with my little Rainbow sharks :)

It would have to be on a concrete floor to hold that much weight. And probably a pretty thick one at that...

The best store owners are hobbyists, that's for sure, and he's certainly just as addicted as we are.

There is someone in Alberta that has a 5000gal aquarium (freshwater) in her basement.

Imagine the utilities bill? Mine is already too much. But then again, if you have that much money to have an enormous tank I dont think they care about the bills.

Nurse sharks are pretty harmless and bottom feeders mainly. I've had the pleasure of one of them giving me a ride on its back. Its the blue's that are nasty little creeps and from previous experience don't let go very easily when they latch on. They are the nippy little dogs of the shark world.

I don't know if I want to know what "previous experience" you've had with them:wideeyed:
