In my 5G Hex I have 2 adult breeding gold marissas (as well as 1 adult striped breeder size striped one). One of the last clutches which I was pretty sure was from the 2 golds (only the golds had been mating non-stop...lol) had all striped little ones with the exception of one lone little gold. Is it possible to get striped ones from 2 golds?

The dominant gene would be gold in a gold x gold pairing. They could throw stripes, but the majority should be gold if it was a gold x gold. If it was a striped x gold and you got that many stripes, the stripe gene must be dominant. You should still have had more golds though.

OR your striped Marisa could be female and was storing love from another mating ;) - they can do that for months. By the same token, the gold female may also have been storing from a stripe cross, but the former is most likely with those ratios I would say.

Watch the gold for faint, lighter gold striping. The stripe pigment gene is independent of the stripe gene, so they can have stripes that don't have the maroon coloration. Its an oddity though, hence the note to check.:D

My adventure with marisas began quite some time ago couple of clutches from you my dear. :) (One clutch sadly was devoured by a hungry molly) but the other hatched... all stripes. Added one gold snail later. One clutch early on resulted in one gold (like now) and a lots of striped ones.

Recently, I had specifically put the 2 golds together in hopes of getting more golds and they seemed to be cooperating. But alas only 1 gold again. However, as you say they can store eggs for months & there were until a couple of months ago lots of striped adults in with the golds.

So hopefully she is storing some 'gold' eggs for the future.. it gives me hope. There is another clutch recently laid in the tank so I shall keep my fingers crossed. Will let you know if these are my little gold gems.

Will check the current little (gold) one for stripes & let you know.

I just had a clutch hatch that was entirely gold and that's what you should get with a gold x gold too. Eventually you'll have them, if not, I have... a lot...lol.
