Anyway, I think I had a little of NTS couple weeks ago and quickly started doing frequent water changes.
I've been doing 50% changes every two to three days but the betta still has an unusual white substance under her chin reaching as far down the belly to her gills. It looks a little red in spots but hard to tell (she's white and red) but NO change in her behaviour or eating (little piggy). Since it hasn't progressed but it hasn't gotten better with the water changes I've added meds to the 3G tank.
So what do you think????
aquarium salt (2tsp)
stress coat
melafix
primafix
Should I just be patient now or am I going the wrong way?
She does seem happier since I've added teh melafix and the primafix though.

I'm probably nuts. I'll keep an eye out and watch her. It's not ick if it's anything is fungal.
Cross my finger and say I'm looking to close. She's not even showing any signs of distress.

Can you get a picture or describe it a little more? Is it fuzzy? Slimey? Etc...

Bettas don't tolerate Melafix well so I'd skip that one. I haven't heard how well they do with Pimafix but I wouldn't overdo that either, just in case.

I use the melachite green for my bettas. use 3 days and change water. You might need to do another treatment if you still see junk.

Thanks, I'll get a pic in a bit and do another water change, take out the snail and treat her with the malechite green.
I'll keep everyone updated.
Some days it would have been easier to leave her in the bowl but I wanted her to have more space to swim so I upgraded to a little 3Gallon.

Its best to positively ID the ailment before medicinal treatment as many med's are hard on them and they can build an immunity. Hopefully we'll be able to figure it out.

I haven't changed anything so this would be her.

White filmish can be a number of things - pH crash, flukes and Costia to name a few. Try Googling the latter two and see if anything sounds familiar.

Pimafix is fine with bettas and can be used with other meds without problems you just need to measure accurately.
I have never had any problems with Bettafix which is a less potent form of Melafix and can also be used with other meds.
Ive never been game to use Melafix as it seems to work for some fish and not others.
