I was driving to the store to get some milk for coffee in the morning and a big branch came flying through the air right over top of my car....:err:
It's whipping so hard out there, I can feel a breeze coming in through the cracks in my single pane windows. Brrrrrr
I am actually quite surprised that I am even able to sit here and use the computer and the lights aren't already out, they've been flickering on and off for hrs. I'm afraid to go to bed in case I need to power up the generator to keep us from flooding again. :coffee2:

Its not blowing too hard here yet, but the gusts are supposed to be up to 80 km/hour both tonight and tomorrow. I hope we don't lose our power... seems almost inevitable though. Everytime I decide to put my decorations out, the weather interferes. Never seen a Winter like it.
Take care out there. :wideeyed:

LOL Well maybe I'll get my tree up if the power goes out. I wanted to just decorate a tank but the kid would have none of it.
I love lightening. I haven't seen any or heard any thunder. I think the storm is just over your house Dorothy. Grab Toto, you're going for a ride!
EDIT: I just had a flash of you saying "There's no place like home... but if that's not possible, could you drop me off at Melody's for Eggnog?"

Well, Ms AqauScaper, did you lose power or did you manage to ride out this storm? Lots of folks lost power and some are still without it. I had one passenger in Poco tell me they've been advised that they might not get power back before at least 10 pm tomorrow!
There were sure a lot of huge trees down (several 12 inches in diameter) across the road on my route... My bus was rerouted needless to say but I saw the trees when they eventually cleared the road. Lots of trees down on wires, a huge billboard sign near Lougheed toppled onto the road and practically no traffic lights at all. People were taking the bus to find a restaurant with power to have coffee/tea or a bite to eat and try to warm up. Even the bus felt good to them... it was warm. (even if we were sometimes travelling at a snails pace). During rush hour on St. Johns at one point pedestrians were making more headway than I was...lol.
Here's hoping everyone and their aquatic creatures have survived this latest onslaught by mother nature.

We lost our power about 230ish this morning.. got up, fired up the gas fireplace, wrapped the tanks with blackets and thought here we go again.
No sooner then I replace the discus I lost cause of the last power outage... great, lovely, someone shoot me.
However,
Six thirty ish am this morn, Bc Hydro, had our power back on.
Now I have to go find what was on my back porch and is now scattered across my yard and the next...:err:

Yeah but sometimes you get some great new stuff in the yard....lol. My Son rescued one of our chairs tumbling down the street during the last storm.
Trouble was, our chairs were packed away by his Mother the night before. I had him put it outside around where he found it after the wind was done.

As long as it's stuff in the yard and not some humongous tree on your roof as is with the case of a number of folks' houses today.
BTW... hail has just started coming down here in New West... should make things nice and slick in the morning. Is this crappy weather never going to end?
