I awoke this morning to snow once again.:Holiday-7: And so, this is a message to all you folks who live in places in Canada where snow is 'normal' in winter. I know it's the Christmas season, a time for sharing with friends, but please we love you for your thoughtfulness but please stop sending us snow!
Oh I know some of us here even play or sing Christmas carols like 'I'm dreaming of a White Christmas' (me included) but we don't really mean it other than maybe hoping of a light dusting on the trees or in the air on Christmas Day. We have no idea how to cope when it accumulates on the ground...lol.
In fact, we are in so much denial about snow here, that people here have to go out and buy a snow shovel when it snows (they have no idea what happened to the one they bought the last time it snowed:laugh: ).
Ok, quit laughing! I know you are because when I first moved here years ago (from Montreal), I too laughed at a city that can come to a grinding halt with a few inches of snow. And so, thanks for your thoughtfulness but we don't need any more snow!...lol

<SINGS LOUDER> I FARTED ON SANTA'S LAP, NOW CHRISTMAS IS GONNA STINK FOR MEEEEEEEE!
Now on a serious note, I cannot help but observe that Ontario is having BC weather and we are having Ontario weather, all coincidentally after we started hanging out with Ms. Pamelajo. OH sure, she acts all sweet and innocent, but she's a devil in a red dress if I ever virtually saw one.

I think you must be getting soft in your old age. Specially seeing as you came from Montreal.:BOLTS:
Did you leave your longjohns there?
I love my new fishy friends, so much I might be willing to send you a pair of longjohns. As for trading weather hmmmmmmmmmmm, Unless you got something really good to trade for our beautiful balmy weather.
I will be going up to my Dad's after Christmas and will get my fill of winter there, so it would have to be something really good.

Forget winter white; Christmas likely Grinch-green east of Alberta (http://www.news889.com/news/national/article.jsp?content=n121602A)

I'd NEVER survive a winter in Montreal now! It'll be 36 years this January that I've lived here in 'Lotusland'... and believe me, I have no regrets. Montreal is too hot & humid in the summer and too damn cold in the winter. (& waaaaaay too much snow!)
As for the longjohns... thanks but I won't need them if you would just stop sending the snow & cold...lol. If you won't send our mild weather back, maybe you could share??? As for Montreal, the city gave me a great send off weather-wise the day I left ( a sleet storm... such fun!:nah: ) And I have very vivid memories to this day of frost bitten ears, and feet... NOT FUN!
BTW, your Dad's place is Christmas card perfect. Where is it? And as for getting your fill of winter while there, if you have the option to stay indoors when it gets too cold, then you'll be ok... it's always beautiful to look at... it's experiencing the frigid temps that kills you.

Dad is 3 hours north of me a town called Hanover. Dad decided at the age of 64 to buy the farm he always wanted. So 3 years ago bought the 100 acre farm and off he went with the two horses they already had and were boarding here. Now has 5 horses, 3 dogs, and I don't know how many cats.
When we are there we usually are outside most of the day. But wood stove going when we go in. Either in the barn or outside with the horses. Has a trail through the bush for riding.
Here is a pic of the front part of the property.

What a beautiful spot! The wood stove sounds inviting  ... that might actually make being outside acceptable...lol. As for horses, I love them too. But riding in winter? :nah: ... been there.... done that... no thanks!

We usually head back to the bush were it is protected from the wind, so it is not too bad. But there are days when a sleigh ride to the end of the driveway is enough (1/4 of a mile) Dad moved in there in January and we went up the following weekend to help my brother who had borrowed his work truck to haul all dad's tools up. Darn cold that weekend any of the guys with a mustache had icicles hanging from them.
Mel I am heading up Jan 6th weekend.

I wish I could, but the step sisters are there with their men and they are down to one bathroom,
Plus it is my turn to do Christmas for my mom. We take turns as her place is too small.

Actually I am hosting at my brother's cause my house is getting too small, now that we have 6 teenagers pluse 3 little ones. We don't have a rec room and Steph's room you can barely move in for all the furniture. When they were small it was great cause we have a playroom under the eves off her room that they loved, but now that they are bigger they can't fit in there.
My brother has no kids yet so each bedroom is a different games room. Pool, foozeball (spelling) dart board etc. The kids voted his place the best.

What?!?! You haven't insisted that one of those rooms be a fish room?:D

He did start up an aquarium awhile back and will be moving it to one of the bedrooms.
As for a fish room, he thinks one aquarium is a bit of a pain at times, so the fish room is not going to fly. Loves the fish just does not like cleaning it.
