Anyone know from experience what they are like?
I have read 2 different versions.....attack other fish and the other quite peaceful.
They are pretty small and remain so I can't see them killing other fish?

They are relatives of the often endangered pupfish species of North America. They are native to Florida.
Males are territorial, especially with each other. Aggression can vary from individual to individual, but generally they aren't the best community fish. They're not 'mean', just chunky, chippy little fish with a lot of character but not necessarily a lot of tolerance. They are great in their own unheated tanks.

I've heard similar reviews. They've been known to nip as well. Great little algae eaters but they could also eat plants.

I have the opposite experiece with both of my pairs. Not very aggressive or nippy at all.
But then again most of what I keep are cichlids.
