A very creative way to get the Global Warming issue across!

:CokeSanta: "This is a busy time of year for Santa and he tends to keep his nose out of politics, so there must really be a serious problem up north if he’s coming to Ottawa to deliver a warning instead of presents,” said Lorne Johnson, WWF-Canada (http://www.wwf.ca).

Canada's Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on the planet with a temperature increase of 3 to 4° C above normal. Weather conditions are unpredictable, nearly one million square kilometres of the icecap have melted, and the trend is accelerating. This serious loss of habitat and stability is putting seals, polar bears, and entire Arctic communities at risk.

.pdf warning hehe

I'll add that to the list of links to check out when I'm on a connection/computer thats not prone to locking up...

Anyone see the Al Gore movie? An Inconvenient Truth?

I downloaded it (hey they just want people to see it right?) and thought it was a bit of a Gore-fest but good enough on the whole. I have mixed feelings about riding in limos and flying around the world preaching emissions reduction but at least it didn't get political...

God help the polar bears and other arctic life. I saw somewhere that they are already finding bears out at sea who have drowned from exhaustion trying to find solid ice.

Yes the arctic is getting hit hard. People tend to think of it as a vast wasteland but it plays a very big part in the world. The wildlife that survives there is nothing short of amazing. I saw a lot of it when I worked for Renewable Resources in Inuvik, or learned more about it I should say, I didn't see much first hand.

The rabbits up there are HUGE and they will even eat meat. We had one that came around the office and the guys were feeding it spam. No, not e-mails, the real spam :Frog: .

Hey, I bet he has the authority to do that too!

At the very least he'll get a lump of iceberg in his stocking.

Santa is an old guy so he probly had money in income trusts, which Harper just torpedoed against one of his campaign promises. So he's probably right choked along with millions of other Canadians.

I gotta stop watching business TV...
