What kind of camera do you use? Fantastic pic's, gorgeous fishies :) .
You have quite a collection of shells in there too. I love shells - wish they didn't wear down in tanks. I have found some cool ones at the dollar store of all places.

The camera I used for both pics isn't anything fancy or special.. the ocellatus was using my work digital cam and the corys I used my personal cam. Both were just on the macro setting, but the only difference is the corys were taken in a photo tank. I will get the brand names and models of the cams if you absolutely want them... just might take a bit longer.
I also like my shells.. lol.. good old ebay comes through in a pinch again. lol. how do your snail shells from wearing down?

Define 'photo tank', if you would please. My camera is a couple of years old so I'm sure the standard MP's of cameras now is much higher, maybe that's the difference.
The only way to keep shells from wearing down is to keep them out of water....lol. However, they will erode faster at lower pH levels.

Define 'photo tank', if you would please.
I made a glass tank that is 8" cube.. painted the sides and back of the tank black and that was about it.. gives you a smaller tank that the fish cannot escape in.. only thing i would do different the next time is making the depth of the tank a little less.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I beleive these guys are spawning right now.. or have spawned and are guarding eggs.. I hadn't seen two of them for the past couple of days and really thought nothing of it.. then i began to worry that they had died and i not noticed it. But, today i notice one of the males is deep within one of my largest shells.. I am almost positive that the female is in there with him. They won't leave this shell for nothing.. won't even come to the entrace of it.. poke their head into view every once in a while.. then back deep into the shell.

That's cool. The shells obviously make for more than just a nice looking tank. It will be great to have little ones. Keep us updated.

I sent a huge shell to a friend in the States that collects them. This girl knows her aquatic creatures bigtime - she's one of the mod's on About.com Freshwater actually. Anyways, she had all of the fixin's for BN breeding in a tank, all the right caves, etc. She put the shell in and they continually spawn in that instead.
I think they know what's natural and what isn't sometimes. I suppose shells would be difficult for most creatures to invade too, so its perfect all around.
Congrat's! Looks like the 10G may have to grow  .

Wow, what beautiful little fish.
Where did you find them? I've been wondering what to put into one of my 10gals once I move the fish into the 20gal.....
