Moved "Binkley" and "Doinkel" (and friends) to the family pond a few days ago.
Left over soil from a retaining wall left a pile of dirt that was soon leveled off into two tiers,
and 2 small ponds were added.
This year, upon seeing how big they had gotten, Dad was finally convinced to start the 2nd tier...

I'm quite sure once the saplings and stepping stones are removed, i could turn the hose on and let Brandy dig most of the 2nd tier out.

Now to get rid of the rowboat and add some plants...

I'm sure Binkley and Doinkel et al are very happy to find themselves back in the pond. Just wait until the discover what is in store for them with the big expansion with the second tier being added. ::D:

I look a that and think: You've got your work cut out for you. But then Brandy probaby will be happy to help. Be careful about encouraging her. Down the road she might view any large flower bed like that as "needing" to be dug out.

I look forward to seeing pics of the project.

Can't wait to see the 2nd tier completed. I like to row boat! You not getting rid of it entirely? Was Brandy supervising from the deck? Give her a treat from me.

Love those names  . At first I was surprised that none were named after me, but then I realized that you'd be devastated if the one named "Weird E-Chick" died :twitcy: .

A very tranquil spot. I could pull up a chair if it wasn't for the dirt flying. I think I need to make some Brandy Bites:wink:, she's such a pretty girl.

Thanks guys.

That rowboat is kinda neat, i'd just like to see it in a place that has a little more swimming space.
The boy used to have wooden oars in his hands (not sure where they got to) and the girls lantern lights up. (Solar powered)

Anyone recognize where the koi's names are from?

The rowboat will have more space with the enlarged pond. As for the names of the koi, no, I didn't recognize where they came from although they sounded familiar... had to look them up out of curiosity. Let's see if anyone remembered.

I remembered in part, but not in a truly identifying way...lol...don't want to give it away so I'm being vague for now. I had to cheat and look it up too.

You know you're in for a weird day
when a search includes Binkley & Doinkel:yes:

I did a little reading on them too, and had no idea they had issued only 4 comics.
Can't recall if i had all four, but i imagine they might be worth some money today.
They were all sacrificed to get a fire going on a particular rain soaked camping trip.
:twitcy:

And speaking of weird and money-
Tues. night my bill at a 7-11 came to $6.49.
Well, i just had to get a ticket. Checked the numbers tonight and missed the 1st number by one,
hit the second number, missed 3 and 4 by one and the last 2 numbers by three. Gahh.

The sting of coming close was subdued (a little) by checking my mail.
Just got my tax adjustment back today, and had figured on having to pay a little.
Although it's not a great amount, still had to grin at getting something back.

SSSSHHHHHHHHH :wideeyed: .... Don't let them know they've given you something to be happy about! It unnerves them and they'll ding you twice next year.

:secret: Good news for the pond fund though!

Probably worth some cold hard cash these days as are so many things we discarded over the years... if only we had known.:twitcy: I get that feeling when I walk into an antique store selling everyday items we had as kids (and I'm not that old  )

Glad to hear somebody got some money back... I'm sure you can put it to good use (until you do win the 649... after me, of course. )

And so, now that you have a little extra beer money to quench the thirst, when are you planning on starting to dig out the second tier of your Dad's pond?... or have Brandy do it? I'd advise straight water to quench Brandy's thirst though.

Yup, i started to feel a little older when the music i grew up listening to
started being played on classic rock stations, and that was a few years ago.

My MTS has progressed into MPS  ...

so no money for a beer fund, just as well though...
my fish and my belly will thank me for shelving that.

Hope to get a start on both my own and Dad's pond once my bro's off for the summer.
Ya gotta envy those educators at times.

That's ok, Mr. Namor, I'll drink the beer for you because I'm a good friend like that. Brandy & I will sit under the sprinkler while you & your brother work, no doubt offering helpful suggestions that get more intelligent as the empty beer cans pile up.
