It is almost time for the kids to return to school and most has used up their vacation time.
So what were the highlights of your summer.

Mine were: my daughter graduating high school with a co-op award, one week at a cottage in Restoule, 3 days at my dad's and camping locally for part of next week.

Sounds like some lovely memories  .

Hands down, my highlight and pretty much my only fun...lol...Harrison Hot Springs Resort with my co-workers. Yes, we actually like each other and have fun... well, for the most part anyways...lol.

Heavenly hands reside here (the spa):

And look where we had dinner!

This is what happens when a co-worker steals a camera in the party room and decides to spy on other co-workers down on the beach:

It was FANTASTIC! Good people, good food, amazing day at the spa and all in a breathtaking setting that my camera can't do justice to.

oooooh...nice pics!

Actually, the "boys' are going for a weekend golf trip staying in Harrison for a night, let me know whether the Crazy Fish Bistro is a good place to dine!

Camping trip for half a week in July, just got back from the Okanagan - we do this every other year. Lotta fun though the weather was crappy for sunny Okanagan standards, "Dad" (me) won a double jackpot in Deal or No Deal, 400 tickets for prizes at an arcade reward centre. That gives you about $2 worth of Dollar store items.

Shopping for school supplies next week, maybe a trip to our local fair.

It was a fun, fast summer...already planning for next year!

Are you all going to wear your matching ebay fushia striped golf shirts?

Pam those are some great shots, your daughter is beautiful you must be so proud!

Melody how did you ever come back? The door picture alone relaxed me lol...Looks like an amazing place.

My highlight was walking to a 125 gallon pond in the yard. :) We put it in today and picked up some beautiful Pennsylvania flagstone to cover the lip. The season is so late & the weather is so cool, I think I'll just let it run without fish & enjoy it that way until next year.

The Crazy Fish had awesome food... no burgers & pizza but I survived...lol...lots of seafood dishes but some other items too. I had the chicken pasta. It's kind of a bar atmosphere, which suited us fine. We were going to go to the fancy dancy restaurant in the hotel but after scoping out the ballroom dancing type of place with a dress code, we decided it was... well... not our style...lol.

Seriously, book spa time if you can. The deep tissue massage was worth every penny. You can get your eyebrows and nails done too ::D: .

Pam, this is a great thread, however, I don't really like the title "Summer will be over soon" ::(: . It just can't be over soon... it just got started.

Highlight was a visit from my sister and the day boat cruise we took up to Pitt Lake which is the largest freshwater tidal lake in North America. It included a lovely lunch served on board and we also indulged in a glass of wine while we relaxed and enjoyed the view.

Here are a few pics:

I can't get over how quickly the summer flew by.
Having already posted a pile of summer pics, i'll add a couple of the new season that approaches.
For some reason i've always found autumn and the changes it brings to be tranquil.

Ah heck what a picture of fresh from the boats lobster without a picture of people enjoying the feast this is my daughter (the blond) my son and his girlfriend my newest daughter. Just ignore that naughty son of mine! He obviously does not mean to look like he's giving his mom the bird! Which I just noticed! Boy is he in trouble tomorrow.

Wound down the summer with a couple rounds of golf and a one night stay @ the Harrison Hot Springs Resort. I suggested the Crazy Fish Bistro and one guy in our group dug this out:

http://www.crazyfishbistro.com:80/

Well of course, driving into town the Bistro was packed. Don't know why there are idiots posting stuff like that...maybe a disgruntled ex-employee. The boys had already decided dining in the Lakeside Cafe buffet, prime rib night, you see.

No spa time...I'll save that for another time with the family! I just have to live with my bushy eyebrows another year.

I believe it's up for sale. It's family owned I think. Nothing seedy about it that I could see, other than the rowdies they let in that night who were with me. And anyways, everyone up there can afford the good stuff - they don't bother with crack...lol. Sounds like you had a good time regardless!

This was my birthday present, a little late in the season so the only inhabitants will be the statue's this year. Still working on leveling and getting some more plants in, I think most of the work will be done in the Spring.

I've also added more flag stone's and a few small garden ornaments and a padgoda, I"ll have to get some more shots. Not a bad beginning though.

I dunno what happend, never received my fuschia toned shirts...seller claims they were lost in transit. That ruined my whole golf year, completely threw out my colour scheme. I like playing mental gymnastics with my playing partners.

Thanks Ed! We have a nice little bistro set next to it already, with 30+ trees in my backyard there is little no sun as it is. I think if we put up an umbrella, the neighbors might think we were vampires. :twitcy:

With mere hours remaining until the "official" close of the season, I'd like to add the summer of '08 will for me, be a memorable one.
Spending time here with all you fine folks sharing information, ideas and all the great pictures and laughs made it that way.:notworthy:

Love the pic of Brandy.
We do have a great bunch here! Like extended family.
Seeing as the close of the season comes a little earlier to my end of the country I have to call it a night have a 6:30 shift in the morning.
Look forward to spending the next season with all of you

Goodnight.

First off Jeradatar, your pic of the supper feast made me crave lobster. As a matter of fact, that night i made "poor-man's lobster". Which is-

Bring heavily salted water with a couple CLOVES of garlic to a boil.
Add fish fillets (Pike or Pickeral) work best. Thawed or frozen will work, frozen just takes a little longer.
Once water starts to boil again and fillets float to top, remove and serve with hot butter.

Not nearly what fresh lobster is like, but pretty tasty all the same.
I emphasized cloves, as the first time i made it i used 2 entire bulbs... glad i was off for a couple of days.:twitcy:

The labyrinth is in a rural area, west of the town of Delisle.
