How fish migrate has always intrigued inquiring minds, including mine. It has become even more important as of late, because more and more creatures are becoming 'lost' or disoriented.
In Amphiprion percula (Orange Clownfish), this study showed that they are strongly attracted to the smell of decaying rain forest leaves found on the shore and it brings them in from the open sea.
Now imagine if all the trees along the shore were cut down?
