Lee Newman strikes again.:notworthy: The first to successfully spawn Retroculus Xinguensis.

I'm lucky enough to have 4 juvies.(and by lucky, I mean lucky enough to have a wife that will support rearranging our multiple tanks to allow me to have them)

These guys are GREAT! They are housed in a 55 "river" tank, with small pebble substrate, decorated with numerous boulders in an attempt to resemble a fast flowing riverbed. Ph is 6.4. The lighting is a little bright right now, but I'm planning to add blackwater extract once I'm sure everything is fine, and that will help diffuse the light and better simulate their natural habitat in the Rio Xingu. :GEEK:

They're awesome! You are indeed a lucky man on all counts  .

F1's are far more likely to spawn in captivity too, so you might just be the second person to do it. That's exciting stuff!

Never mind second, too much notoriety for me. I'd settle for a spot way down the list.;) As long as I was on the list, I'd be happy. (nothing worse than showing up for a party, and not being on "the list"):err: "and yes", (parafrazing the missus, over my shoulder) " I am lucky on all counts" :notworthy: LMAO.

Ah, nothing like wifely appreciation inspired by a frying pan. :Whip:

I'm sure you'll be on the list and in the book. :D

There is just nothing like finding an article written with that much detail and expertise. Very interesting read and the pic's are great!

Incidentally, if you ever want to mix your bloodline up or anything, the source of his fish is Below Water (http://www.belowwater.com/). Mr. Lucanus is a highly experienced and respected supplier.
