Sorry... won't be at that one. Somehow London put their auction on the same day as our Essex-Kent Cage Bird Society had their show. I have to work at that one so..... have fun in London.

Thanks Lisa,

Jude isn't going to be making it either, she has an Orchid show that day.

I actually had and practiced self control today. :swoon: :Frog:

I picked up 2 pairs of bosemani rainbows that will eventually go into my very empty 90 gallon after qt.
4 corydoras duplicaerus
4 C-35 Black Phantom Aspidoras corydoras
I also picked up about 15 magazines for about $4.
And some new positively revolting live cultures, :Applaud: which I am very excited about.

A friend scoffed at my magazines & said they'd be outdated, the hobby I find is not always about re creating the wheel anyways. Plus they'll still make for good reading especially when I cannot sleep and the sailfin molly on one of the covers was worth the 4 bucks alone.

That's one good thing about hobby mag's actually - they're never totally outdated. They have very useful breeding & species articles that will remain current indefinitly, for starters. Nice scores!

Thanks! They were all fish I actually wanted and had been on the look out for. My wild and crazy impulse buy was a some riccia the size of my fist for $2.00. A few pleco's almost sidetracked me but I really would like to get my haircut in the next century.

Wow, some very nice finds!

How were the prices? Attendance? Was the show well represented?

It was a a buyers market and maybe half the amount of people showed in comparison to last year if that. It was a strange auction actually, things that normally would go for a lot went for peanuts and things you can normally get for a reasonable price went for insane prices. I guess its all about knowing current market value, supply & demand as well as getting caught up in the excitement of the auction. :)

Sounds exactly like Sarnia auction then. Guess it wasn't just a fluke.

I'm a bit worried about the shows though. For us, if we didn't have our auctioneer bring his fish to show we'd have had 1/4 of the fish instead of 1/2 of last years total! :wideeyed:
