OK folks, here's your chance to show off your work/office fish tanks.
Here's my little 5G tank that currently houses 3 guppies. It just has a little HOB filter that came with my JBJ Picotope set-up. Once the weather gets cold I will be adding a 25W submersible heater. The landscape is composed of 3 pieces of petrified wood. Sorry for the image quality, these were taken with my Blackberry.

Edit: Slightly different angle. I actually moved the tank a bit as I had to re-arrange my shelf. I also managed to free up a couple of outlets so now I can add a heater and a small light fixture. I think some plants would look good in there eventually.

Awesome! I can't set one up yet in the office I use, but was thinking about setting one up in the staff room.

Cool little tank, GP. Glad to hear you've found available outlets which will allow for a heater and light as I'll be eager to see what you do with it when you decide to add plants (you have a talent for aquascaping).
Pam, let us know if you do get around to setting one up in the staff room. I guess you'd have to get the ok from someone to do that... but hope you do. ( It could serve as a breeding or growout tank or something like that... expand your tank space.)

Our new admin should be okay with it. Just have to wait til school is over unless I find someone willing to help me for awhile.
As for it expanding my tank space, you know me too well.

I have an empty 55 gallon hex sitting in my office. I'm saving up for a canister filter for it and trying to figure out what the heck to put in it. It would be a neat salt water tank and when I start thinking it thank direction I remind myself of the zoo I already have. I'm thinking if I found long thin branches of driftwood it would be a nice shrimp haven. :)

I saw something neat when I was at Pacific Aquatics (http://www.pacificaquatics.ca) today. It was an artificial branch of roots meant to simulate hanging tree roots (about 18 in. long I think).Take a couple of those, add some java moss and it'd make a really cool shrimp tank.
I wish I could remember what it was called and who makes it. It's pretty cool. I'll check on it the next time I'm there and let you know.

Here's what I have on my desk in my office. It's just a ten gallon with a trio of Xiphophorus xiphidium and a lone male Limia perugiae.

Looks great, madattiver. A great way to show off some fish to the folk who drop by your office that they'll not likely otherwise.

As everyone here is all too aware, I am utterly incapable of leaving my tanks alone. So here is what I did today at work (it was a slow day... honest):

Added a 25W Stealth heater and the 9W PC fixture from the JBJ Picotope and some plant clippings from my other tanks. Took the guppies home and brought my crowntail betta to work instead.

Looks good! I love the betta.
Do feel the need to rearrange furniture regularly too!:err:

Your betta must love that tank. And somehow I knew it wouldn't be long before you'd get plants in there.

Great looking tanks guys !
I have a little rimless 5 gallon tank here I intend to setup in the home office one day, maybe this winter I'll give it some attention.

Come on Blaine, get on it!
madattiver and I can't be the only ones with tanks at the office. And if we are then you should all be ashamed of yourselves and should immediately start plans to set up a tank at work!
Jay, I'll let you off the hook since having a tank on a bus wouldn't be very practical...

The office tank is not an option for me. Shame on me. If I want to hang a picture of my family on my cubicle wall it takes my supervisor's approval, so a tank is out of the question.

Wow... that's pretty strict. You are forgiven.

Well, I don't have one on my bus, but I do have one on my desk (the 5g Hex which often serves as a q-tank. Although it had undergone many variations over the years, it's very blah right now... nothing but a bit of gravel and a piece of Texas Holey rock in it (no plants... there are marisas in there at the moment). Occupants at the moment are a couple of marisas, some baby Brigs and Pam's plecos. :Think:Maybe you've actually given me some incentive to do something with it. Will see what I come up with and post a pic.

I keep looking at all of those electronics and wondering if I'm valued enough to keep me from getting fired if a tank leaks on them.
So far I haven't been secure enough in the answer to set one up  .
